I have read many books stating that the ratings "went down" and even "plummeted" after Suzanne left. This isn't true! In fact, during the 82-83 season, this show was #6! How many shows do you know rated that high before the year of their demise? The ratings were below the Top 30 in 83-84 (anyone know what they were?), but for the most part of it's early 80s run, TC was in the top 10! Same with Laverne & Shirley, many people think the ratings were way below the top 30 when that show moved to Calif, but they were also in the top 25 several times...

Three's Company had been the #2 rated show in America during 1978-79 and 1979-80. During the season that Suzanne held out the ratings fell to #9. It then rebounded when Terri joined the cast.

The ratings definitely held up without Suzanne and were great for a show it's age. I think that some people just take a small drop in viewership and turn it into a big thing. |

Yeah, exactly, but I still think it's cool for a show to be in the Top 5 the year before it ends...you don't see that too often...do you happen to know the 83-84 ratings? I imagine they were most likely in between 30 and 50...

Somers was and is overrated. John Ritter made the show. He could act, unlike Suzanne Somers. Ritter had a very special quality about him that's hard to put into words. The only two other actors with this quality are Jon Hensley and Henry Winkler.

I think both John & Suzanne are great actors with loads of talent! Three's Company was much better when they were both on there. They (not just John, not just Suzanne, but BOTH) contributed so much to the show to the point where it's unbelieveable!

I liked John and Suzanne too. But John was the best.
