Default pilot part two-episode discussion

hi everybody,
lets discuss this episode while its still fresh
in are minds

i enjoyed this episode but i have two complaints
1)venus flytrap does'nt get enough airtime
2)no mama carlson and i would've like to had bucky
dornster(bill dial) make an appearance.

but otherwise an entertaining episode.
i'm one of the few people who liked mr. carlson
sitting on the cat in the last scene!
i love cats but i still think it was funny!

thats my opinion
whats yours?

I liked the episode. I thought the protesters were funny and Johnny rocks. I also thought that Carlson sitting on the cat was funny. I can't wait until next week.

Default Cut scene?

I could swear that I remember a scene from watching re-runs back in the 80's, in either the pilot part 1 or 2, where they are in Andy's apartment I believe, and there is a discussion with someone about people's names being a sign of who they are as a person. Then Les is asked what his name is. Was this scene cut from the sydication packaging airing now on TV Land? Because I never saw this in both pilot episodes last weekend.

Cool

It was toward the end of the series, when they did a flashback of the pilot - refilmed and new stuff. Was it the creation of Venus???

Mama, Venus, and Andy were all reminising (i cant even spell that, man) and it showed andy trying to get out of his lease because it didnt look like wkrp would work out. Remember he tried to bribe his landlord with a 6 pack? Venus came over and Andy invented his persona (and it wasnt venus flytrap - does anyone remember what it was without getting your tapes out? Makes a good trivia question.)

Off the top of my head guess, was it Venus Rising?

This scene is from the episode where Jennifer falls in love with a poor guy...they are having drinks at jennifer's apartment when Steele says the line about a name saying a lot about a person...and then asks Les what his name is--(Les downs a fishbowl-sized glass martini in this scene)

yes indeed its venus rising---in the creation of venus episode--tim reid's character originally suggests the name flytrap to andy but andy says that its a plant that eats bugs...andy suggests venus rising---"talk about love and talk about the stars and you will be famous" andy declares--it is andy that erroneously announces the name venus flytrap to momma carlson...

I just watched that scene last night on tape!
I missed the question above.

After Les downs the drink, he speaks slowly and deliberately, with the lines "All newsmen drink Jennifer" and "Congratualtions to the two of you...on your.. very fine looks."
