Edna Garret is the winner here, obviously. Beveryly was to Facts of Life what Cousin Oliver was to the Brady Bunch! Like some sort of wack riders of the Apokolypse, these characters are added near the end of the series as a last-hour attempt to bring in new viewers, usually with little or no results. So when your favorite sitcom adds a wacky neighbor, cute kid, or motherly caregiver... BEWARE! For these are the harbingers of death!

I liked Beverly Ann, but I think each had their own good qualities. I think I like Beverly Ann especially because I liked the episodes towards the end of the series better. The episode where Mrs. Garrett gets married is pretty good, though too!

Definately Edna Garrett but I think Cloris Leachman was a great choice for a replacement when Charlotte Rae decided to leave the show..

I agree with your comment Todd.

Talking

Edna Garret gets my vote I don't really like Beverly Ann but I like the way that the girls put up with those long boaring stories she tells.

Mrs. Garrett hands down. I like Beverly Ann and everything but when people remember FOL, they'll always remember Mrs. G. Granted, BA was very funny and all but still, Edna Garrett will always b #1 in my book!

Question

Edna or Bev? I do agree, Todd had the best answer but they were in a totally different league!

They both had their good qualities, like Edna had things Bev would never have that made her special. And Bev had things that Edna didn't have that made her special. But really they are completely different personalities. Edna seemed like she was the responsible one and the mature one. Bev was more like he grown up kid. She never matured and was still acting like a 15-year old girl, which was also cool. Edna created a mother-figure, as Bev created a best-friend personality.

As for me, its a tie. But if I was in a pinch and I had to choose for my life ... MRS.G!!!

P.S.
Recently before the final two seasons ended airing on Nick-at-Nite, did anyone see that episode where Bev didn't try but stole Blair's love interest? I felt REAL bad when Blair started saying she looked stupid, and it looked like Bev was going out with her son. I wanted Bev to just knock her block off so bad
