Well for one thing Roseanne was meant to be a realistic show about everyday problems of a lower class family. Also after they won the lottery the plots started to be more "unlike" Roseanne (Jackie goes out with a prince, Dan cheats on Roseanne, Roseanne is on a train that gets hijacked, etc.). I never really liked the 9th season anyway. The only characters ever shown in this season were Roseanne and Jackie. The rest were usually just on and off.

The last season was strange and the last episode was stranger. They should have ended the show at Darlene and David's wedding.

I understood it was a Roseanne fantasy, but the season still stunk.

they really should've had the fantasy last like 3 or 4 episodes and then go back to reality.

I saw the one where Roseanne is on the hijacked train today(local station) and also several more from the last season... they suck!

When this season first aired, did people HONESTLY think that those things (the lottery, the train hijacking, trips to New York, Spa Weekends, visit to Martha's Vineyard, Halloween Party with those people from AbFab, etc.) were actually "happening" in the Roseanne universe?

When I first watched the entire last season, I had never seen the finale, and even before that I *knew* the entire scenario had to be a dream or something along those lines.

It felt like a nightmare when I watched it.

I've been watching season 9 from 1-2am on KTVU and the shows without the family at the house were way, way out there in left field. Especially when the family went to NY and Roseanne wore that tight black outfit, I wasn't thrilled at seeing Roseanne's crack. After her and Dan straighten things out, and Darlene has the baby it's alot better. I originally missed the whole 9th season, so it's interesting watching for the first time.

Season 2 finale. Roseanne's 37th birthday. The episode is called "Happy Birthday"

To me, the last few seasons lost the realism of the snow. It wasn't the same blue collar family that we all loved for so many seasons! Roseanne herself said that people liked the show because it was a representation of themselves on tv, but even before the lottery the show was becoming more fantasy-comedy then real-comedy. For example, Roseanne breaking into their competition's restauraunt, Roseanne getting her own tv segment, etc. (These are pre-lottery episodes.)
Even though Jackie's wackiness in the later epsiodes makes me laugh everytime.

Even though Season 9 was the worst. It did have a couple of episodes I thought were pretty good.

I like the eps when Darlene had her baby premature & it looked like it was impossible for the baby to live & she ended up surviving.

I also thought the ep where Dan had an affair with another women was alright too. I wish it could have been done a little better! Roseanne was just too calm when Dan told her!

Also the ep with Dan's mother coming back from the mental hospital was alright. Even though their were plot holes in this ep.
