I just got a tape of three eps off of EBay that includes the last ep of the first season and the first two eps of the second (and last) season. I bid on this tape because it let me see Roger Buell as played by both Roger C. Carmel and Richard Deacon. Carmel seemed to fit the part much better, IMO, a good counterpart to Kaye Ballard as her spouse. Richard Deacon probably would've been better in the Herb Hubbard role than as Roger Buell, but Herbert Rudley played that part nicely. The shows had so-so moments, but they had some nice LOL moments as well, such as Susie's line, "I'm pregnant!", at her "wedding", and Eve and Kaye's reactions to her outburst. It's also interesting to note here that by 1968 it was ok to use the word pregnant in a sitcom, and it was also ok by then to show both the Hubbards' and Buells' bedrooms w/ double beds in them. It was nice finally having the chance to see this show, since I was a toddler when it originally aired and I don't remember ever seeing it, though I very well may have at least once, since it was on right after Disney Sunday nights. I have vague childhood memories of the opening title "The Mothers-In-Law", how it looked, and I've gotten to see the opening credits and theme song off the Net, but it was fun finally seeing three complete shows.

The eps are in ok quality, a few scrapes on the screen, but not too many. I have no idea whether or not they were cut, since I don't remember seeing them either on network or syndication, but I assume that they would be uncut. They were fun to watch in any case.
