brief review because lifetime reshowed the segment today.

The segment starts in the middle of everything but opens up when the Wackers came home from shopping and found their home ransacked as if burglars had come through. The next incident was six months later a young man knocked on their door and Dorothy answered he asked to use their phone and she did. Dorothy said that she paid no mind to the young mans conversations since she does not do that. He finished and told her good bye. She thought he left but did not he snuck back into the house and attacked her tied her up and gagged her and left her on the kitchen floor. We do not know for sure it was the same guy who used the phone the segment uses the same actor but Dorothy was struck from behind and knocked out when she awoke she was tied up. She was hit in the head and alongside the jaw. Dorothy was able to make enough noise to alarm the neighbors and they called the police. Bill arrived home to a number of police vehicles and police officers swarming the home. Dorothy was not seriously injured. Bill searched the house and mentioned that some things were taken. A .22 caliber revolver, antique watch, movie camera and a radio scanner.

A message was left on their wall "cheaper, but will do"
Four months later the gun was left on their front porch. Followed by all the other items reappearing one by one. The harrasment moved on to include phone calls. Which ranged from the caller not saying anything but breathing heavily on the other end to other times when he would call and threaten Dorothy with physical assault. Peggy their daughter said they had the number changed several times but the phone calls did not stop. One night while watching tv there was a disturbing noise but we were not told what it was. Bill said that he grabbed his gun and went outside and every time this happened he neither see anything or hear anything he made it a point to say he never heard a car. They decided to add security lights to the front of the home.

Next hand written notes would show up on their front porch. Some of the letters were threatening and others were mocking them. According to the police no finger prints were ever found on any of these notes and the notes appeared to be written with the persons opposite hand in order to disguise the author.

The assault was now taken to a new high one night Dorothy went outside to let the dog out and with her back turned she was attacked, she was raced to the hospital with skull lacerations. Police searched the neighborhood, none of the neighbors could ever provide them with any information that a person was ever there. No one ever saw a person or heard a person around the Wacker home.

At this point the segment they mention that the lead detective had to too look at all possible scenarios and suspects and began looking into Bill himself by asking Dorothy if Bill would attack her she said no. That was as far as it went into Bill being a suspect.

After years the Wackers decided to stake out their own home by hiding in a trailer parked in the driveway while his sons sat in a van parked next door in the neighbors driveway also the sons wife stayed in the house. They waited for 4 hours and decided to end their surveillance. At that moment a loud thump thump was heard and a rock was found with a note the message said "get the message"

To date this has never been solved I found some excellent links of other viewers who found this case odd.

Of course there is a great thread on here

The Dorothy & Bill Wacker stalking/harassment case is one of the creepiest/most unsettling cases to ever be featured on UM. Very strange that this seemingly harmless, elderly couple would be targeted like this. I definitely do not believe that either Dorothy or Bill had anything to do with this harassment/attack on themselves; though, it may have been a family member/blood relative/acquaintance.

I suspect that either one or both of them did something (what, I have no idea) that enraged someone - and that this person decided to make their life hell.

Or, as Bill himself suggested - the person/persons targeting them wanted them to move (maybe they wanted the house, or wanted the Wackers out of the area) and felt that this harassment was the best way to get them to leave.

Unfortunately, this case was never resolved & both Dorothy & Bill have passed on.

It has been a while since my post on this topic and sadly since they have passed away there will be no more information or solution. I do wonder what happened to their home was it inherited by a family member or sold to someone else if the new owner experienced any of these issues it would tell us that the person or people behind it were after the home or the location. Still a creepy and unsettling case

I still have the opinion they were doing it all themselves.
