Why is it so difficult to find info on Coach?
There are next to no cast photos anywhere. I made a site about COACH last year (some of you may remember it (www.geocities.com/peterjmay) but I closed that site down and revamped it as a website about WINGS - another personal fave show of mine!!! Still waiting for seasons 7+ on N@N!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coach, like CBS's Becker, were both shows that were very solid in the ratings yet underrated by critics. They both lasted for a very long time yet had a smaller following to other shows..
I absolutely LOVED Coach...it was great, before and after moving to Florida... It never "jumped the shark" in my opinion!! Christopher |

Coach was a great show. Well acted, good writing and an excellent cast. The only thing that was wrong with the show was that it stayed three seasons too long. They should had stopped after five seasons. The Florida move was a bad one.

I agree with that! Whenever a series "re-locates" ie; "Laverne and Shirley", it is usually the death of it! |

I'd agree with this, those episodes in MN where the boys were scheming in Hayden's office were great.

Some were good in Florida too. Anyone see the final episode where they were on the couch in the cabin and Shelly was in tears. I actually teared up watching her. My favorite show ever.

i loved the hole damn series,
the orlando ones were just as good as the ones in minnesota. I however liked that they ended it in the cabin (my fav set ever!) When craig said goodbyes are never easy i couldnt help but cry but jerry made it funny when he refused to get of the stage because he refused to believe the show ended. in my opinion not any other show can beat coach! it could have gone on long and that would have been fine with me! Thank you craig, shelley, jerry, bill and the rest of the cast for giving me 9 of the happiest tv seasons of my life. i have all 200 episodes on dvd and i am going to treasure it forever because unervical will take forever for it to come out on dvd. Little baby tim was one of the cuteist babies ever. it was a show that didnt need swearing or nudity to make it a good show, it was a good show because it was funny, kind, and made you fell good about yourself. goodnight "Coach" |

It just wasn't the same without the log cabin, MSU and the Screaming Eagles. The show and Florida wasn't a good match. If they'd ended the show after 5 seasons and stayed in Minnesota, it would've been the best thing to do.

Who was the lady who owned the Rams, Georgia Frontiere? It seems that the writers couldn't resist the idea of putting Hayden in an NFL head-coaching position, with an interesting female boss (somewhat modeled on her) to deal with. They did come up with some good storylines in that situation, but like most of you I missed the Minn. State environment.
It was interesting when the show used Big Ten college football footage of U of Minnesota for long shots. One big game of the Screaming Eagles against "West Texas" IIRC used old Minnesota vs. Indiana footage. The pitchfork-style I over U on the Indiana helmets (being used even today) looked like a "W" at a distance, so they were able to get by with that...! |
