Hey everybody. This is sort of off subject, but a concert type thing at my school is coming up and a friend of mine and I are looking for a song to do a duet. The song has to be a Broadway song from no earlier than the 80s. I'm not familiar with many Broadway shows, so I was wondering if anybody could suggest some songs so we could get the lyrics? Thanks!

Oh, this is definately my kind of thing. I'd say, if your friend is a girl, and you both have fairly low ranges, you should do "Macavity" from Cats. It is from the 80's and would be perfect! If your friend is a guy, then you have many options. Personally, some favorites of mine are "Suddenly Seymour" for Little Shop of Horrors(which may be a little mature for a school concert) or "Next Time You Fall In Love" from Starlight Express. Some of these are from Andrew Lloyd Webber, and besides these, there are many more of his songs that would be good and they're all form the 80's and 90's. Try searching for these songs on Napster to listen to them, that is the best.

was Newsies ever on Broadway..cuz i no it is a musical but i dont know if it was on broadway but u can always do Grease(classic) or Annie...or maybe something from Lion King..hope that helps~
