None of the new fall shows that I have seen advertised or read about sound interesting to me at all. I know from experience that the couple of shows that I do wind up enjoying will end up cancelled and replaced with more reality show garbage. I wish we had more great sitcoms like Wings, NewsRadio, and Taxi on the air. Just about any other sitcom that has come out these past couple of seasons tries to copy either Friends
or Everybody Loves Raymond <which has gotten VERY old>. We need some new material fast. I think good sitcoms are a dying breed. At least I have my beloved Simpsons The Simpsons, Scrubs, and ER are the only three current network shows that I watch on a regular basis.

Snoopy, I guess the networks think that since Friends was such a success, they can go ahead and try to copy it, and hopefully be just as successful. From what I hear, the show "Coupling" is supposed to be like Friends, except a bit racier. I can't recall any new shows jumping out at me. Guess I'll just stick with my current shows. I have nothing against Whoopi Goldberg but the previews for her new show are absolutely dreadful. Somebody posted on another board that if he sees another show with a dumbass husband who has a hot wife, he's picking up a book!!
I can remember when I was a kid, and the networks would make such a big deal about the upcoming fall season, and I really used to look forward to it. Then again, I was a kid, and I'd usually watch anything. Funny how you see things differently as an adult. You see a show you used to watch as a kid and think what was I thinking? Case in point--The Donny & Marie show!!

"Coupling" is based off the British RIP-OFF of "Friends" called "Coupling". In fact, the first six episodes of the NBC sitcom will be using the same scripts as those from the British version. So basically it's a direct rip-off of "Friends" which they plan to be the new big hit. NBC makes me sick. (No offense NBC fans
)To me, the last good show to come out was "Andy Richter Controls the Universe". Unfortunately it was low rated and on FOX, so after 19 (14 aired) episodes, it was cancelled. I'm giving "A Minute with Stan Hooper" a chance, but if that fails ... I give up. |

Yeah, there hasn't been any good shows on in ages as far as I can see. I don't even know about any of the new shows except this one called "The OC" which is about rich people and teens living in Orange County. Here's the sad part: My friend has had it on for three weeks every time it airs when I am over at her house, so I've seen it through osmosis. I found it toally superficial at first, but then started to think it was kind of interesting. And I'm not usually this superficial, but the main kid on it looks like a younger David Duchovny. HELP, is all I can cry out for, I can't believe I'm watching this show now because the main actor freaking LOOKS like David Duchovny! Someone commit me...
About "Coupling", that is extremely pathetic of NBC to copy a show that was first copying them, and to even copy it more directly than "Coupling" apparently copied "Friends" in the first place. That's why I didn't miss TV for the month and a half I didn't have it. Nobody seems to know how to make a decent new show anymore. The only thing I missed was "Wings", <g>. Anne |

I feel the same way. I've found that I've been spending more time reading and doing other stuff than watching prime-time TV. I'm definitely not watching Coupling I don't like to judge a TV show without watching it first, but I can tell from the previews that I am not going to like it. When did TV get so trashy?

I also usually hate those types of shows, and while my mom is watching that one, I sit there and make fun of it the whole time that it's on, ...but I'm getting sucked in because who the heck knows why. maybe aliens from outer space control peoples' minds through that show... but I don't like that. HELP ME!! lol.

LOL, Krista. I guess I must be being controlled by aliens too, but wasn't aware of it. Damn! Sneaky bastards!
