Sad Taping Mishaps

You know sometimes I just want to beat my head against the wall. I've spent 2 entire days of doing NOTHING but taping. I actually got several batches of tapes finished. I sat down to rewind the tapes tonight, make sure they were labeled okay, etc. To my shock, and then disgust, I found out that I put the playing tape in the recording VCR and the recording tape in the playing VCR (I tried to tape on the "out" instead of the "in") and realized that all the taping I've done the past 2 days, every single bit of it, ended up snowy. I was mad and then I actually sat down and cried out of frustration. Now all that taping I finished, that I was going to mail tomorrow, I have to do again.

Has anyone else done this sort of thing? Please commiserate with me and share in my frustration. I have to go to bed soon because our first day of school is tomorrow so I can't stay up all night and tape, unfortunately. I have to start from scratch again tomorrow.

Make me feel better. Tell me you've screwed things up like this before.

Please?

(insert smiley that is not smiley, one that has a huge tear drop!)

How it all came down to this, only the Devil knows. Retail Rodeo is at the corner on my left. The motel is down the road to my right. I close my eyes and try to peer into the future. On my left, I saw days upon days of lipstick and ticking clocks, dirty looks and quiet whisperings. And burning secrets that just won't ever die away. And on my right, what could I picture? The blue sky, the desert earth, stretching out into the eerie infinity. A beautiful never-ending nothing.

Nanny,

Everyone has screwed up their taping at one time or another, whether they admit it or not. In fact, I did it just last week on a tape that I sent priority mail, of all things. Like a dummy I didn't check the tape before mailing it. I'm going to get the short end of the stick on this one.

Two days of taping snow would make me cry too. I hear ya.

Ahh That's my new icon for the night.

Literally, I'm talking 18 hours worth of taping shot in the butt NOt to mention the amount of time I spent digging through my tapes. Parenthood and Cybill, all one episode per tape on about 400 tapes (between them) and then of course lets not forget Golden Palace and the Nanny. The Nanny I edited on another VCR so it was just the copy of it, thank GOD I dont have to redo 8 hours worth of it, I just have to retape the master on that one (which is still bad but come on!).

I'm so frustrated.

Last year I had made this deal with someone in which I would send a whole bunch of Mystery Science Theater 3000 episodes to him in exchange for "The Incredible Hulk." When I dubbed several episodes, I discovered that they came out terrible because most of them were in SP and I tried to dub them to SLP (I generally dubbed episodes in to SLP to save money but now I don't) Unfortunately I was very busy and I had a vacation planned in the coming weeks. He sent me the Hulk episodes but I never had the time to dub the episodes he wanted and get good quality. I will get him those tapes no matter what. All I need is to fix the VCRs so that they can record.

Btw, this person I'm referring to is a good trader. His name is Greg and he is gman1039. He has waited too long for these episodes.
