Question Where were you when you heard the news?

Today marks the sixth anniversary of Princess Diana's death. It was a Saturday night, and I was watching 'America's Most Wanted' with my husband when the news broke in. From that point, it was just waiting for the status of her condition....
I recall going back and forth on the phone with my mother about it. It was confirmed for me by CNN newcaster Brian Williams. I was in a state of disbelief.

Do you remember where you were when you heard the news?

I was at a boyfriend's condo; we were watching some television program and then the news broke the announcement that Diana was in a serious car accident, the boyfriend did not seem to care and changed the channel before I could get any more information, furious I ran into an upstairs bathroom and called a friend on my cellular phone to find out if he
knew what really happened and that is when I found out that not only was Diana in a serious car accident but that she had died

Oh yes, I do. I was home watching SNL, it was a commercial, so I was flipping channels, and I, too, flipped to Brian Williams. At the time I got to that, Dodi was already dead, but Diana wasn't yet, she just had a broken arm. I thought she just started this relationship, and now he's gone. So I was flipping back & forth(I actually thought she was going to be OK, because come on, it's Diana!! She's immortal!). The next time I put it on, Brian said she was in grave condition, and I was still holding out hope. Went back to SNL, then went back to Brian, and was then he announced she had just died. OMG, just typing that part gave me goosebumps. I was laying on the couch and sat straight up and yelled OMG!! My sister was at my house that night, too, and she was in the kitchen, and she ran out of the kitchen and yelled What!! because she had been hearing all that was going on.

I follow the royal family and I really, really liked Diana, like many others did. Despite her many personal problems, I still liked her. I know she absolutely loved her kids, and wish she were here still, to see them grow up. In her death though, I looked at it this way, she died young and beautiful, the young and beautiful way that we saw her, much like JFK, Jr.

I had been watching TV and had fallen asleep. I woke up and the story was breaking right at that moment. Since I'd just woken up I thought that maybe I was dreaming or misunderstanding what I was hearing. I thought, 'This must be a television fiction. This can't be real.' It wasn't long after I realized that it was real, they said that she had died. Stunned silence. Diana was a wonderfully admirable person. Her death was a crushing loss.

I sadly don't remember any more (I was 12 and had just started seventh grade the week of the accident). My teacher told me about it when we came back to school the next week and I remember watching her funeral on TV and bawling my eyes out.

I don't remember too much about it, being that I was only 8 at the time, but I do remember seeing news about it on the tv and all the talk about it. It's really sad

I was online, actually, in a chat room, and watching the coverage on MSNBC at the same time.

I was watching a "Monkees" marathon on TVLand when there was a call. It was a friend of my parents, they told me the news.

I was sitting around that morning and my grandmother called and told me, she was all upset on the phone and I turned the news on after that.
