The Last Season Is So Short - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Why is the last season so short? It only lasts for 20 Episodes as were the other 3 syndicated season lasted for 25 Episodes??? Any Know Why? Buy The way 25 Episode order for a syndicated sitcom is alot, looking at The New Gidget which only had a 22 Episode order for both seasons. Mama musta been a pretty popular show!

You have to keep in mind that they started the last season in like late September to early October of 1989 and they ended in March 1990 (whereas most TV shows end in May). That's one reason why.

So look at season 5, Starts: September 23, 1988 and Ends: April 27, 1989 with a total of 25 Episodes and then look at Season 6, Begins: September 18, 1989 Ends: March 12, 1990 with a total of 20 Episodes, so that cant be it?

As I understand it this WAS very popular show, consistently at the top of the syndication ratings during the syndicated years...

Wow, DuMont...where you did get that season info??

I asked someone once about season premiers and finales, but they thought since MF was mostly syndicated, they probably didn't have that kind of a schedule.

I'd love to see the full list!

Okay, this is more of an episode guide than a list. But you get the idea.

Yeah, since the other four years were syndicated, they weren't on a strict schedule like TV shows on a specific channel, so there were no openings or endings.
