Story ideas that WERE NOT used on the original show - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Here are mine.

-They follow-up on Jawaharlal's arranged marriage, and have him defying his parents and culture by denying the marriage
-Eric (surprisingly!) is paying more attention to the baaaaaaaad girls at school than Simone, and Simone feels that she needs to be like that to get his attention, so she tries to dress and act like them and flounders at it. Eric, in the end, tells Simone he likes her just the way she is.
-Darlene, who thinks she's so better than people, gets a culture shock/reality check when she tries to join a mostly white society club, and gets treated funny because she's black. Because IRL, regardless of how rich and privileged one is, if s/he's black, there is that chance of getting treated poorly because of the color of that person's skin.
-Dr. Samuels hears about a child genius even younger than Janice, who he possibly wants to recruit into the IHP, and of course, Janice gets jealous.

Any more?

I love all of those ideas!

I cant think of any now other then Eric runs of with me....But that wouldnt work

Your idea about "child genius even younger than Janice" is a classic! That would have been really funny. And I still love your "Jawaharlal's arranged marriage" idea!

I think the Darlene-wanting-to-join-the-club-idea would have been a great story to try, because Darlene always had this self-confidence about her, and it would have been interesting to see what happened to that self-confidence when she was rejected for such superficial reasons; It would have been great to see Darlene tell them off.

-The Eric/Simone thing is also intriguing. While Simone shied away from Eric the first season-and-a-half, if you look closely you'll see she got jealous when Eric made eyes at other girs.

-I'll try to think of some ideas, but yours would have been good episodes, and if written properly by the writers, great episodes. Are these some of your ideas for fan-fic?

I like the ideas for Eric (cant you just see Simone dressing up in leather and wearing dark makeup) and Darlene.

With Darlene...not only would that have been a good idea to put out there...that's life for many of us blacks, unfortunately.

Lessons need to be taught that beyond the color of one's skin is a good person.

Eric/Simone---actually, it started in Season 1. In "The Russians Are Coming!" Eric was checking out one of the girls on the Russian team, and Simone gave him the nastiest look ever! I know he quit looking (at least for that episode)!

As for fan fic...it can be used as such. I thought about writing the one for Jawaharlal (of course) and Darlene, but I would have to do a lot of research because a history lesson is always taught...and history was never my strongest subject.
