You remember episodes in Season Five? It was like at the beginning of the season, she was in multiple scenes of episodes, then we get to "Keep the Home Fires Burning." She is mentioned constantly, but isn't in the episode. Then there's "And Now, Here's Bernice." She only had a tiny five minute scene, as well as "Pearls of Wisdom," where she appeared briefly in the beginning and briefly at the end. What gets me is "The Big Circle." She should have been in more scenes. She was portrayed as very supportive of Julia when Reese died, and they just drop her out of sight when Randa arrives. She doesn't even appear in the following episode where Bill comes home (I think that's why they wrote Bernice in that episode.) The only refrence to Suzanne is that she owns Consuela. They wrote two good episodes that were Suzanne stories and that was "The Bachelor Auction" and "Fore!" Would you all agree with me?

So either the writers didn't want to use her much, and that's why they didn't make much for her, which ultimately was the reason she left next season. Or, she didn't want to act very much so they didn't put her in very much, so she "finished up" being in a few episodes, then finlly left next season. Good observation.

At this time Delta was suffering from panic attacks as well as depression, so they only fit her in what they thought she was able to do. At least that is my understanding of it.

Yes, Delta had an anxiety disorder, which caused the sudden "panic attacks," and her depression didn't help matters. I think it's horrible, how mean the press and everyone else was to her, when she didn't do anything to deserve it. It's too bad she had to have such a bad time her last year of the show. At least she's doing better now!

Yeah, Anxiety and Depression are the most common mental conditions that afflict people, and if you have chronic anxiety, you can be extremely susceptible to intense panic attacks.
And dang it, I missed the reunion on Lifetime---I sure hope it gets rerun again---that and the "Golden Girls" one! |
