Lalaine, as I read on tvtome (I think) was not in the movie or the last six episodes because Hilary and her mom did NOT like Lalaine so she left. I am not exactly sure whether or not this is true, but this is what I read.

Why would she choose to play a supporting role in You wish which was a movie only aired on the disney channel instead of playing a major role in a movie that would appear in theaters? Does not make sense.

Lalaine left the Lizzie production because of some problem she had with someone. That makes the most sense.

She didn't leave because of You Wish!. She left for personal reasons.

The real reason was that miranda couldn't make a deal about how much she would get pay for the movie and she decide not to be in it. So instead of using someone else to play her they made of the exuse that she was in mexico.
