Question Questions RE Hair Wraps

Wep, it's time for another one of Transit Whiz's "Question RE" posts.
But anyways, I was wondering...

Has any of you ever had a hair-wrap?
How long do they last?
How do you remove them?
Are they good for your hair?
Anyone know how to do them? Basic patterns? Instructions? Anything?
Is it easy to learn?
Is it anything like lanyarn?
How much does it usually cost to have it done 'professionally?'
How much do the threads cost?

And last but not least... What three colors go well together?

What exactly do you want to do? Do you want to put the string all throughout the hair section? Or do you want to use this: ?

I did the whole string/beads in 4th grade.. but it didnt turn out too well. You can order some online: http://www.shadowfaxjewelry.com/hair.htm here, you can buy a book on it: http://www.hairboutique.com/books/bookreview087.htm

Im sure if you go around to different salons, you'll find a stylist that will do it for you. As for price, it usually depends on the hair length, because the longer the hair, the more time consuming it. As for removal, if you cant do it yourself.. I would get someone else to do it, because Im sure it could hurt if you do it the wrong way. For damage, I found this link: http://www.disneydollarless.com/arti...ci052101.shtml

:::::Some Do's & Don't:::::

Made from the finest quality 100% cotton floss, which allows hair to breathe.

There are sixteen different colors to choose from, you may choose up to four.

The multi-colored Fimo beads are individually hand crafted from fine German Clays.

All ceramic beads are hand painted, and imported from Greece.

You may swim with your hair-wrap, chlorine won’t hurt it.

Shampoo and condition your hair-wrap right along with your hair.

Care should be given not to get caught when engaging in vigorous activities.

Remind small children not to pull, twist, or tug on their hair-wraps.

Also be careful not to get it hung while brushing your hair.

Hair-wraps length of stay varies depending upon care (instructions listed above), and the type and texture of the hair.

You may remove your hair-wrap at any time without damage to the hair by simply, snipping the knots at every color change, and unraveling.

It is also fun to make jewelry from the beads, once your hairwrap has been removed.

I'm referring to the string all through the hair-thing, but the other kind of hair wraps are cool too.

Thanks for the links... I was thinking about buying the Klutz: Hair Wraps book, but it's hella expensive, so I don't know.

Thanks again!

I had a hair wrap when I was 10. I got it at Disney World and it ws blue, yellow, and pink. It actually lasted a hell of a long time, 9 months, and only came out because my friend had it in her hand and I whipped my head around when someone called my name and it just came off in her hand.

I got dark magenta and dark blue in mine. With silver beads at the end, and one of them was a moon. It looked funky-cool
