Default Breaking Point.

I know there's an episode already with this title, but I needed it for my new fan-fic. I'm not doing "Something That I'm Not" but somebody else can. Anyhow, I'll start posting this later.

"Jo, I have something to tell you." Blair walked into the Eastland kitchen to find it empty. She sighed and turned around, bumping to a tough looking girl with brown hair, pulled back into a pony-tail. "Jo. Thank God I found you."
"What gives?"
"You're father called. And he wants you to call him back."
"Ok. Thanks, Blair." Jo walked out of the kicthen and stopped dead in her tracks. "Did I just say thanks to Blair Warner? I must be losing it."
Jo walked into the lounge picked up the pay phone and put a dime in it. She started dialing a number. "Hey, dad. It's me. Blair said you called. What's happenin'?"
"Jo, baby. I have some awful news."
"What?"

+++

Stunned, Jo hung up the phone. Mrs. Garrett, the school dietion (and a 2nd mother to the girls at Eastland) walked into the room and saw the look on Jo's face.
"Anything wrong Jo?"
"My dad just called.... and told me.... mom died in her sleep. She had a stroke."

Thanks for the replies! Here's more.

Mrs. G and the girls walked into the lounge, all dressed in black. They didn't say anything.
"I thought it was a lovely service." Said Natalie, breaking the silence. The rest didn't say anything. "Am I alone here?"
Jo started crying and ran out of the room. Mrs. Garrett follwed her.
Blair turned to Nat. "You know, Nat. Sometimes, you are so hurtful." Natalie wondered what she said that was wrong.

+++

Mrs. G walked through the door. Jo was laying, face down on her pillow, her body was moving up and down and muffled sobs could be heard.
"Jo?"
"Go away. I'm not in the mood to talk."
"I understand you're hurting. And it's ok to cry. Come on! Let the tears flow. Don't hide in a pillow."
Jo sat up. "You're right. I'm not the kinda girl that hides behind things. Thanks, Mrs. G." Jo hugged Mrs. Garrett and left the room.
"Hey, poor girl." Said a reconizing voice. It was Missy Hines, the MEANEST girl at Eastland. She was even meaner than Blair!
"What do you want, Missy?"
"Nothing. I just wanted to say sorry about your mother. Give me a hug." Before Jo could even breath, Missy pulled Jo into a tight embrace. She reached down Jo's school's vest uniform and pulled it off. Jo fell and hit the floor. She started sobbing.
"Oops." Said, Missy. "My mistake." She threw Jo back her vest and walked away, laughing.
"I'll take care of her later. Right now, I have to figureout how to forhet my mother." Jo pushed herself up. "I know. I do things for people. Make there lives less harder. What a great idea!

I'm sorry. I totally forgot about this thread. Oops. Anyway:

"Jo." Mrs. Garrett said, walking into the lounge. She was followed by Blair, Natalie and Tootie. "We need to talk."
"About?" Jo looked up from shoe she was polishing.
"The girls have been telling me you're doing things for the other girls. There home-work, ecx. Why?"
"Because.... because I want to help'em. Is that a crime?"
"When have you ever helped anybody?" Blair asked. "If this is a move to be popular, then hang around me and you'll be with the in-crowd in no time."
"Hang around you? Blair, if I did that, people will be even more terrified of me." Jo joked. She looked at her watch. "Oh I gotta go."
"Go where?" Tootie asked.
"A-a-a-a-a." Jo couldn't get her words out.
"A-wondering?" Said Natalie, sarcasticly.
"Fine. You win. I'm going to help this girl with baseball. She wants to make the team, so I'm going to help her."
"Why can't Cindy help her?" Asked Mrs. G. "She's the sports lover."
"Cindy's..... busy. Look, I REALLY have to go. Bye." And Jo walked out of the room, leaving the girls with worried looks on there faces.

Want more? You asked for it!

"Has anybody seen Jo?" Tootie asked as she walked into the kicthen that occuiped Blair and Natalie. "She said she would go over this play with me."
"She said she would go a double-date with me..... last night and she never showed up." Blair walked to the freezer and opened it.
"She said she would would read a paper I'm writing... 2 days ago." Natalie put some ice in 3 drinking glasses, along with soe tea. She passed one of them to Tootie and sat Blair's on the counter top.
"Let's face it." Blair closed the freezer. "Jo SAYS she's helping, but what she's really trying to is... forget about her mother."

Jo ran into the school, and started to go up the stairs to her room. But she stopped and help her stomach. After a few minutes later, Jo let go of her stomach and continued going up the stairs.

"I hate to say this, but Blair, you're right." Tooite sighed and walked over to sit on a stool. All of a sudden they heard a loud THUD. The noise came from there room. The girls looked at each other, sat there tea down, and ran to see what happend.

Blair, Natalie and Tootie walked into there bedroom above the kitchen and saw Jo, laying on the floor. Blair walked over to her.
"Is she dead?" Tootie asked, a worried look on her face.
"Oh, great!" Replied Natalie, happily. "A muder mystery!"
"Natalie." Said Blair. "Shut up! Jo's not dead. She must've tripped over something and fell. Jo. Jo, wake up. Jo!" No reply. "One of you, go pull my car around. We're taking Jo to the hospital. You're right Tootie. She might be dead."

Sorry I haven't posted and I'm sorry this post is so short. I've been busy. I promise, I'll post more tomorrow, along with "Peekskill, NY."

The girls paced the around the waiting room of the hospital, waiting for news on Jo.
"What's taking so long?" Blair asked looking at her watch for the 5th time.
"Whatch waiting for?" Asked an old man in cornor.
"Our friend." Natalie replied. "She fell and we think it could be serious."
"Oh, I'm sorry. I'm waiting to see my wife, Martha in ICU. She was in a bad car accident and she got banged up pretty bad."
A doctor walked into the waiting room. Blair, Natalie and Tootie waited for what ever news he may bring on Jo.... good or bad. But insted of walking to them he walked to the old man.
"Mr. Bobby Hern." The doctor said. Bobby Hern nooded. "You're wife...well...she's no longer with us."
"You mean she.....died?"
"In her sleep. I'm so sorry."
The man started crying as the doctor walked off. Tootie walked over to the man and sat beside him.
"I'm sorry."
"Thanks, kid. I gotta go....home and take care of things. I hope your friend makes it."
He gave Tootie a smile and walked out.

A FEW MINUTES LATER...

"That's it!" Tootie said. "I'm going back to Jo's room." As Tootie started to walk out, Natalie tugged at her arm. "No. We can't. Jo will be alright. She's tough. She'll make it!"
"Guys." Blair was sitting on one of the chairs, watching the news. "What was that old man's name that was here?"
"Bobby Hern." Natalie replied. "Why?"
"Well, listen." Blair turned up the TV. A newscaster was on the screen, talking. The words 'Suicide' were at the bottom.
"This just in." The woman newscaster said. "A man by the name of Bobby Hern took his life a few minutes ago. He was in an apartment, a few blocks from where his wife, Martha is being hospitalized. Martha, too, died. A man upstairs was sleeping when he heard a scream. He walked to Mr. Hern's door to complain about the noise."
Then a young man, in his 20's came up on the screen.
"I walked into Bobby's apartment because the door was open. I called out his name. No reply. So, I walked into the kitchen and found him on the floor, blood surrounding him.
(Back to the woman newscaster.)
"Mr. Hern cut his wrist with a kitchen knife. In other news...."
Blair turned off the TV and turned to her friends. They all had the same look of shock on there faces. A doctor walked into the room and over the stunned girls.
"Are you here for Jo Pol...Pol..."
"Yes." Tootie said. "We are." She knew the doctor couldn't pronounce Jo's name in a million years and there was only one Jo Pol.
The doctor looked at his chart and took a deep breath.
