Cool Ever meet any celebrities?

Which celebrities did you get to meet, when did it happen and how did you get to meet them? Were they down-to-earth nice or were they nasty to you? If you have pics, I'd LOVE to see them!

I've met my share of local celebrities, met one US Senator from my state and the US Representative, also from my state. I caught a glimpse of President Bush (the current one, not the first one) last year when his limo drove past me. Phyllis Frelich (a famous deaf actress) graduated from my school and I have seen her a few times - she has came to my school every few years to talk to us about achieving our dreams. Stuff like that. She's been on ER, worked with Nell Carter (rest in peace) and all that jazz. Unfortunately, I have no pics of her and me together.

The one major celeb I got to meet was Vicki Lawrence. And let me tell you, it was a dream come true for me! It happened in May of this year. In April, I was thumbing through a newspaper and reading it. One day every week, they run two full pages of entertainment event ads and this was one of those days. My eye landed on an ad for the Vicki Lawrence/Mama show - the formal name for it would be "The Two Woman Show", a standup comedy show in other words. From looking at it, I found out it was coming HERE to town!! I went out and got front-row seats (I was SO excited when the box office guy said they had front row seats available). Anyway, I went to see her show and really enjoyed it. After her show ended, I sat around for a few minutes while everybody left. One of the ladies that worked at the casino (Vicki's show was at a casino) came up to me and asked me, "Would you like to go backstage and meet Vicki Lawrence?" I honestly thought I was going to ! I jumped up and said "YES! PLEASE!" and we went backstage and stood in an empty room...When Vicki came into the room, I honestly thought I would . The pictures of her DO her justice, but not enough! She was amazingly beautiful...Awesome olive skin, the prettiest red hair, the NICEST smile....OMG.

After the other people (who were also backstage with me to meet her, as well) got done with her, I walked up to her and just thought I was going to faint. Here I was, talking to a real-life celeb! I didn't feel like I had jawlock - I actually had to hold myself back from gushing about how much I loved "Mama's Family" and the other things she did. I surprised myself - I didn't gush or have sudden jawlock. I even told her that I get up at 5AM (during the school year) every day just to watch "Mama's Family" and her jaw dropped open!

When I finally had my pics taken with her, I was sooooo excited, I couldn't put my arm around her! That photo session resulted in four pics total - She was soooooooooooooo nice, it totally blew me away. So pretty, too! She didn't have even one bit of that "I'm a celeb, you're not" attitude, which I admire. I had nothing with me (no papers, no Sharpie) for her to autograph, so she ASKED ME for MY address so she could send ME an autographed pic! She held up true to her promise - I got my autographed pic of her last month. Woohoo!

I know I went on forever, but it meant so much to me to meet her in person.

I remember that one pic you posted last night - the one where Lisa was signing stuff at her table, you could post that.

Let's see, I met George Clooney at Planet Hollywood in Orlando. That was 1994, just when he was starting on ER. I went to the opening of Universal Studios-Orlando and there were alot of famous people there meeting with we pions--Steven Spielberg, Bill Cosby, Charlton Heston, Linda Blair, Robert Wagner & Jill St.John, Ben Vereen, Angie Dickinson, Jimmy Stewart, Janet Leigh, Tippi Hedren, Ernie Hudson, Henry Thomas & Dee Wallace Stone(from the movie ET),etc. They were all riding around on golf carts, so they were soooo easy to spot.

Plus, met a number of people in the music biz.

BTW, George was super nice!! I have a photo of him & my sister that I took, but I'm so amateur with the computer and I'll have to ask my brother how to scan it.

Well after Selena died I got to meet her father and her Husband. I saw them at the Astrodome in Houston and I went up to them, and gave her father a hug and said "Im sorry for your loss" and he said "Thank you Mija" then I shook Chris's hand and he smiled at me. Her dad smelled good. I started crying after wards it was so sureal that I had hugged her dad.

I'm proud to say that I met Valerie Harper (Star of The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Rhoda. She's SO sweet!! I actually met her twice, once at a booksiging, and again at the stage door of a play she was doing. Both times I got to hug her, but only the second time I was able to get it on film. Here's the picture. For the rest of the pics, see the "Meeting Valerie" section on my site. (Shameless plug!! )

Ha. Forgot a pic.

P.S. - Can ya tell I like Scott? I'm kinda, like, leaning toward him a bit. Didn't even realize I was doing it. His hand was on my back and I was about to faint... I was scared to death. And on top of it all, Elliott was babbling about "Wonka chocolate-y goodness," so I was trying not the grin like a total goon.
