Default Showbiz or Chuck E. Cheese

From what I'm told, Showbiz Pizza Place exsisted from 1981 until 1991. Then it was changed to Chuck E. Cheese's. Here are the differences:

Showbiz:

The Rock A-Fire Explosion:
Fatz (male-Gorilla) on keyboard
Beach Bear (male-Bear) on guitar
Dook (male-Dog) on drums
Mitzy (female-mouse) on pom-poms

Billy Bob (fat bear with suspenders) on guitar
Looney Bird (a female bird whose head popped out of a barrel)

Rolfe and Earl (a wolf with a puppet who did stand up acts)

Then they changed. The new robots seemed just like the old ones, as if they just took off the original's skins and put on the new character skins.

Fatz is now Munch (a male purple monster)
Dook is now Pasquale (a male human chef on a separate stage)
Mitzy is now Helen (a female hen)
Beach Bear is now Jasper (a male-dog)
Rolfe is now Chuck E Cheese

They got rid of the Billy Bob robot all together.

So which do you like better?

I prefer ...

Showbiz Pizza Place ! ! ! !

When I was younger this was the place to be. The band played oldies music and were really cool.

Aparently, in 1977 it was called Pizza Time Theater and had a different band, including the current members Jasper T. Jowls and Pasquale. I'm not sure why they changed to Showbiz, but I'm glad they did. Also, does anyone know if a Showbiz still exsists?

Showbiz was just like Chuck E. Cheese except with different characters on the stage. There were still games and still tokens and tickets. Plus, instead of Chuck E. Walking around, a guy dressed up like Billy Bob and walked around.

When Showbiz closed, it turned into Chuck E. Cheese's. Much like Saved by the Bell ending and Saved by the Bell: The New Class starting. Showbiz is SBTB and Chuck E. Cheese is SBTB:TNC.

They are exactly the same, only different.

I choose Showbiz Pizza. I liked Billy Bob better than Chuck E Cheese. I was upset when they got rid of him.

I don't think I've ever heard of Showbiz. I went to Chuck E Cheese once. Does anyone remember DZ: Discovery Zone? I always wanted to go there as a kid. I haven't heard anything about it in years. Maybe it was just a west coast place--not national.

Ah I loved that place! I went to a lot of birthday parties there. I live on the east coast, so I think they might have been national. The ones around here all went bankrupt, though. They've been gone for a good... jeeze, I'd say 7 or 8 years.

Yep dittowise. My uncle used to be the manager of the one that was by my house...*sniff* That was my favorite place ever.

Well considering that Chuck E. Cheese is dangerous now, I say Showbiz.

Last one I saw was up in Indiana around 5 years ago - looked like it had JUST gone out of business.

I've never been to Showbiz, so Chuck E. Cheese all the way! I miss Discovery Zone though. That one was so much better than any of those other fun centers.
