Talking Mama in the picture at the top of the board...

She looks so funny....Look at her jaw. Vicki Lawrence played this part well .

Did anyone see the time on Hollywood Squares when Vicki Lawrence was on, and RIGHT when the person next to her said something she went "Oh..." and went over to him and started hitting him with her purse saying something like, "You flithy mouth..." or something?

"That Mama" is actually my least favorite "Mama" of the series, visually, lol.

It's somethin' about her wig in those first several syndicated episodes. Mama just comes off "uncomfortable" to me, and it's all cause o' the front/top of that one wig.

But I LOVE the way she looks later on!

Don't you mean NBC years? She looked pretty fake then, too. When the started airing the syndicated eps in 1986, she almost looked like the current Mama...I think late 1987 is when she looks like the current Mama.

And believe it or not, she can STILL fit in her Mama dresses (with padding, of course). She was wearing the same pink dress in the episode where she dreams she's at her funeral and I think she had the same one in the last episode "Bye-Bye -- Baby!". It was this pink one....you know what I'm talking about. She wore the EXACT same one when I went to see her in May. She looked exactly the same like she'd looked on the syndicated years, only they didn't color her eyebrows (Like when that happened during the NBC years). So she was Mama with brown eyebrows. LOL

OK, I was rambling.

No, I actually like the NBC Mama. Maybe it was the charm of knowin' Vicki was playin' her, like someone you know in a play or somethin'...lol.

I see what you mean.

When you said "play" it made me think of when I went to see her and her "Two Woman Show" nearly four months ago. When she was doing Mama on the syndicated years, they colored her eyebrows gray to make her look real. For her show, they didn't color her eyebrows (like on the NBC years), so her makeup looked like it was from the NBC years even though she looked like the syndicated Mama.

I'm rambling, aren't I?
