Default The Passion

Check out this trailer for Mel Gibson's controversial upcoming film, "The Passion". This film is going to be amazing!

I didn't see all of the trailer before- but because of the controversy and because it holds nothing back I really want to see this movie. I hope Gibson leaves in the subtitles though.

Me too! I haven't even been to a movie theatre in over 5 years because there just hasn't been anything that's really interested me. But I think this film may actually get me back into the theatre. I don't think Iv'e ever been this excited about a movie!

I heard that the reason he wants the film to be done without subtitles is because he wants people's full focus to be on the picture, so that they can get a better understanding of what Jesus really went through in the final 12 hours of his life, instead of the make believe version many people like to teach today. He feels that the subtitles may be a distraction, and that they might take away from the visual impact of the story. I actually think that no subtitles may be a good idea. I think it might even be revolutionary to the film making industry.

My actual hope is that they put out two versions of the movie. One with, and one without subtitles. Then people can just choose which version they want to see. I think that would be the best way to go.

But whatever they decide to do in the end, I'm sure it'll turn out great. I just hope this movie does good in the box office. Christians have had to put up with corny, bad acted Christian films for way too long now, and if this one does good, I have a feeling we will see more and more great Christian films made in the future. I applaud Mel Gibson for having the guts to make this movie!

I agree about it being in English...subtitles would annoy me because I wouldn't even be paying attention to what happening really but more to the script.
