Default I've got a bone to pick...

...with Carton Network. It is HORRIBLE these days!! Even when they started getting rid of the good '60's and '70's shows, they came out with some good ones like Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, and The Powerpuff Girls. But now, I think ALL of the network is bad, and "Adult Swim" just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Cartoon Network is evoloving into a pure Anime and Adult Show channel.

Thumbs up I agree!!

Buddy, you just took the words right from my mouth!! It IS terrible! They ae too much inlove with tmemselves own there, they reduced 'Scooby Universe' fr their precious 'Cartoon Theatre' which was bad enough, but now EVERYTHING is their new stuff, they don't even show Scooby anf Flintstones at night like they used to!!
Although I AM glad to see Daffy again!!

Cartoon Network, to me, is getting better.

With "Pokemon" repeats, "Hamtaro," "Totally Spies," "Dexter's Laboratory," "Johnny Bravo," "Looney Tunes," and a couple of others, its good. I do wish they showed the "Batman" and "Superman" cartoons more. With "Flintstones" and "Jetsons" showing on Boomerang next month, the balance is getting better.

Cool

It's my undertanding that the cartoon network was conceived to be more of an 'adult channel'. Not strictly of course, but even stuff like Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, and PPG are meant to entertain an older audience as well as children.

NEW EPS OF PPG START SEPT. 5TH - finally!

I just wish that boomerang was more widely available. When my friend gets her direct tv box turned back on, i try to record the superfriends and johnny quest when i babysit her kids. Boomerang's got it goin' on.

I only have a few problems with cartoon network:

1.They took off Sailor Moon and replaced it with Hamtaro! They still have not conceded to SM fans and put it back on!

2. They edit the anime so much. If Buggs Bunny can smoke then it doesn't make sense why they would edit out Sakyo's cigarette and replace it with a pen!

3. They won't show the rest of the Toguro Saga in Yu Yu Hakusho!

I bet they're gonna have to get another channel devoted to Anime, they have rights to so many. And no doubt it's gonna grow. They made Boomerang, an Anime one is not too far out. They could use the same time slots now for Yu Yu Hakusho, Ruroni Kenshi, (Hamtaro?) etc.; and for late night and early morning, play Random DBZ episodes. And bring back Sailor Moon for sometimes.

That is a great idea! Anime 24/7! I know very well that there are many anime out there that I will enjoy if I only had a chance to see them! If they had an Amime channel maybe they won't be so afraid to show some of the more mature aspects of anime. I say "some" because I don't really want to see a lot of blood or sex and I understand that tv must edit to make room for commercials. But I'd like to see as pure a version as I can in regard to YYH and Kenshin.

That is a great idea! An anime channel... I'll ask cartoon network to consider it(not that they listen to their fans).

That's why Cartoon Network created Boomerang. It is a 24 hour cartoon classic network.

And to top this thread off, I just watched one of Boomerang's new commercials advertising that, starting September 1st, the ONLY place to see The Flintstones, Jetsons, and Scooby Doo (the classics) will be Boomerang! And I believe they mean Boomerang as opposed to Cartoon Network.

That would be only fitting, seeing as how CN absolutely stinks!! Their only saving grace at this point would be Justice League, and even that is a step down from Batman:TAS and Superman:TAS. Every thing else on that channel, minus the shows now moving exclusively to Boomerang, are a total waste of time. Everything!

B&W "I am greatly pleased to hear that CN is putting the classics where they belong, because it definitely isn't fitting for the Flintstones, Jetsons, or Scooby to be on Cartoon Network any more - they've become just like Nick@Nite - pathetic!!!" fan

As for anime, I'm over it. Too much of it. I don't feel that I have to get Boomerang just to watch cartoons. CN would do a great service by cutting back on showing Dexters Lab 5 times a day and showing some old Looney Tunes or something.

I hardly watch cartoon network anymore. Ever since they added that "Cartoon, Cartoon" block that was when I lost interest. And since then they have added these japanese shows and expanded their library of those "cartoon, cartoons" animated shows. Cartoon Network is nothing but trash, IMO. They should have kept the classics from the start.

These are the shows that I remember on Cartoon Network during it's good old years: The Flintstones, The Smurfs, The Snorks, Pound Puppies, Paw Paw Bears, Fantastic Max, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Tiny Toons, Bugs & Daffy, Tom & Jerry, Top Cat, The Jetsons, Laffa-lypics, Pixie & Dixie and Mr. Jinks, Huckleberry Hound, Yogi Bear, Tazmania, Animainacs, and countless of others.

Futurama and Family Guy are the only shows that keep me watching. The way they overplay Pokemon, Jackie Chan, and all that other recent WB crap is sickening.

But think about it. The shows they're putting on these days are meant for the younger kids. They're moving and changing things around to fit the demo. Same goes with N@N. The shows that are airing now are the shows teenagers and people into their 20's grew up with. I don't necesarily like the way things are going, but you really can't do anything. Things change.
