I really hate having to make a post like this, but with all this troll crap going on, I guess I need to post this. Regulars, you don't really have to read this. I'm cool with the regulars that post, well used to post, don't really blame those that left because of troll problems. If you have recently registered within the last 6 months, please read this post in its entirety. I'll be locking this thread and making it a sticky for awhile.
The people on the Beaver board enjoy talking to new people about the show. However, it turns into quite an unpleasant experience if the new person/people turn out to be trolls. It really doesn't take too much to drive people away, and unfortunately you've got that in several situations. Bad apples spoil the whole bunch. So I guess until this troll crap dies down, I guess newbies will have to follow these rules. Rules are important. You can't just say f*ck the rules, I'll do whatever I want. One day you're gonna have to listen to rules, whether you like it or not. If you get a job and your boss lays out some ground rules and you ignore the rules, how long do you think you'll be doing that job? Probably not very long. The same thing goes with the boards here. If you act up, you won't be at this board for very long. Rules: 1) It's okay to act silly. We all have our silly moments, but some of the newbies we've gotten just seem to think this is their board to play on. Cool, I can talk about my day at work in a new thread even though it has nothing to do with Leave it to Beaver. And tomorrow I can post a new thread about my doctors appointment. Nope, I'm afraid your day at work or doc. appointment really has nothing to do with Beaver and that kind of stuff should be taken to either a Private Message, Email, or an Instant Message. 2) If you're here to purposely stir up crap, I would suggest clicking the X button on the top right. You won't be lasting too long here if you do, so just save yourself the trouble and go find something else to do. If your whole day consists of thinking up ways to annoy the hell out of a message board, believe me when I say, go out and rediscover life. 3) This is very important. Treat others the way you want to be treated. This is the golden rule on this board. Before the troll invasion, this board had very little spats. For the most part, everything was cool. We all treat each other with respect and basically just treat others the way we want to be treated. 4) You should know the rules of this site. It's common sense, but some people we've been getting lately kind of lack in the common sense dept., if you ask me. No sex topics. I don't want to read about you getting laid, I'm sure the others don't want to read it either. Cursing, I really don't mind. If you say hell or damn, I won't get my panties all in a wad. But watch yourself, other moderators on this site might edit out damn and hell. I posted in one board and I typed in damn and the moderator edited it out. So just watch yourself on other boards. Other words such as fuc* or shi* are astericked out all the way. See, I type in the s word, **** and it will come up four astericks. 5)Don't act normal on the Beaver board and then go to another tv board on this site and start trolling over on another board. Just don't. 6) Respect other opinions! If someone says they hate the Clothes Drive ep of Leave it to Beaver, don't jump on their case for it. I'm sure the person has very good reasons why they don't like the ep. I can't tell you how many times I go to sites and I see people calling people idiots just because they can't agree to disagree. Also, don't go to other boards- I'll use the Diff'rent Strokes board as an example, don't go to the DS board and post 'This show sucks!!!!!!' It's stupid. If you don't like a show, don't go to the board. If you hate a show so bad, why'd you spend a whole post complaining about it? That's all the rules I can think of at the moment, but if I think of anything else, I'll open the thread back up and edit. I'm not a hard person to get along with. If you act right, you'll be cool in my book and hopefully I'm cool in your book. Consequences were three strikes, but now I think it will be combo 2 to 3 strikes. If you do 2 minor little things, you get a third chance. But if you come in here and just act bonkers the first time around and just create so much trouble, you're only gonna get two shots. The first time will be a warning. Second time I'll talk to TJ and get him to ban you, if we're talking the 2 strikes deal. Now if you do a few minor things, the first time will be a warning. Second time will just be a chance. Third time, I'll ask TJ to ban you. Again, if any regulars were interested in this thread and read it all the way through, I would really like to apologize for some of the behavior we've been getting lately. I hope this doesn't turn you off from the boards completely, but I can't really blame you if you get so disgusted and just leave. I can't blame you. I hope we can all get back to the way things were. Please, I do not want anybody creating a new topic just to reply to this post. It's gonna cause a fight if a thread like this is open, so please just read it and move on. We'll all be cool in the long run if you just read it and move on. If anybody should create a new thread to reply to this post, I'm gonna close it. Thank you for reading this. |
