I just got to see Khrystyne and Jory on their respective "Growing Pains" episodes...and they totally went against their usual "HOTC" characters. Khrystyne was a wild party girl (think the prime time version of "Girls Gone Wild"), making out with bikers, burping, hair-twirling...ya name it.
Jory looked totally different on his guest ep. He looked really buff, had a kind of buzz/box cut thing going on, and he also had a little of a goatee. I didn't feel he was overacting at all in this character. Though I really like him when he's nerdy...I found him sexy when he was being bad. Not too long ago, I saw "A Face To Die For" with Yasmine Bleeth for the zillionth time. Robin Givens was in that...and I notice a pattern in her roles. She is always playing stuck-up, rich black females. She did play a rough inmate at the beginning of "Face," but then she became friends with Yasmine's character and when they got out of prison, they started looking/dressing rich/successful. And not too long ago, while I was looking for a tape to rent from the library, I pulled "Foreign Student," and lo and behold, Robin's on the cover. (It looked like an interesting movie, but I decided not to rent it.) I saw Howard a few weeks ago guest starring on "That 70s Show" as a guy who worked at a radio station. (Homage to "WKRP.") I know he's 6', but he looked super short compared to Laura Prepon - who I believe is 5'11''. She must've been wearing heels at the time. I used to watch "Kenan and Kel" a lot, and Dan Frischman is still kind of like Arvid...just sans nerdy clothes/glasses. |

I am so glad somebody else saw that Kenan and Kel episode! It is my favorite! I thought it was really clever of the wrtiers to put them back together again. They played rival store owners who put their employees in a bagging contest. It would have been really cool if they had been playing Dennis and Arvid, almost 10 years later! (BTW, Dan Schneider looked sooo good!!)

Man, I need to watch Kenan and Kel more now (I use to watch it often years ago) because that episode sounds great
!! A couple years ago when N@N was showing The Facts of Life (don't really like this show, not sure why I was watching it), I saw Dan Schneider a few times on it, he was still like his same Arvid self on it.

Dan Schneider played Dennis and Dan Frischman played Arvid. It was Dan Frischman who was on a Facts of Life episode.

Oops, got them mixed around there, but yeah, that's correct, Frischman was on Facts of Life.

On Game Show Network, sometimes they run the 1988 Win, Lose or Draw episodes with Dan Schneider and Brian Robbins as guest stars. Those two are so funny together. If Dan was up drawing a picture and seemed to get frustrated, Brian would yell "Just keep drawing, baby!" They also talked about how they were working on a writing a new TV show together (unfotunatly, I don't think it ever made the air!)

I had just seen Robin Givens in a movie I rented from the library, called "Foreign Student."
She plays a poor Southern teacher during the 50s, and a French exchange student (who happens to be white) falls in love with her, regardless of how taboo that is during those times. The movie didn't flow too well (in my opinion), but surprisingly, Robin's acting wasn't half-bad at all. It was pretty decent. |

I can't help you with that, but I know I've seen the following.
Brian used to host "Teen Pictionary" around the late 80s-early 90s. I was about 8 or 9 at the time, and it took me by surprise at the time, because he was so nice and supportive...unlike Eric. Rain Pryor was a "celebrity" contestant on a "special" edition of "Family Double Dare." Tannis was also a celebrity contestant on "Teen Win, Lose, or Draw." Marc Price (Skippy from "Family Ties") was the host, and he pronounced her last name "Valley" (like valley girl), and asked her if she could talk valley girl talk. I don't remember exactly what was said, but there were a lot of "oh, my gods" "likes" and "totallies" thrown about. (When I saw her on "Child Stars of the 80s" not too long ago, her last name was pronounced with three syllables---like val-le-ly.) Also, Khrystyne did Pantene commercials close to the end of "HOTC," and she had straight hair. I know there's a copy of that commercial on the net somewhere...I'm gonna find it. I think she looks better with curly hair. (Edited to add: I found the link to the commercials, but the site's under construction.) |

OMG I would have loved to see Brain doing that!
It does seem he did a lot of stuff when he was a "hot new star" more then the others...well maybe not more then Robin Givens |
