Default Lucille or Desi?

If you had a choice of either Lucille Ball or Desi Arnaz to be your best friend..who would you pick? (I'm not talking about Lucy or Ricky Ricardo.)
Think now...

Desi. Fun loving, extroverted and carefree (mostly!). Plus drums.

Desi definitely!! Of course ya'll probably already know that. I don't like how Lucille Ball treated her friends. Most of ya'll are probably gonna say Lucy because she's more recognized and loved. lol
But for mee..
DESI! I would die to be his best friend. lol j/k
Then I could slap him when he started drinking and stuff! LOL
*hugs Desi's picture* lol

Desi for all of the reasons listed by the last few posts. From what I've heard, he just seems like a more personable guy.

But the basic difference is if you're ever in trouble monitarily, Lucy will LEND you money, Desi will borrow some! LOL! Put me down for levelheaded Lucille, although Desi would have been fun in the early days, not so much at the end, although she had troubles at the end of HER life, she still made the effort to be good to her friends. Both of them were great with that, both very considerate and caring, all or most of their lives. Two better friends would be hard to come by.

yeah, lol, but what do you mean by Desi will borrow some? From what I've head he was a very generous guy, like the time one his employees at Desilu needed money for his daughter's surgery and Desi gave him a check for the whole thing. Even Keith Thibodeaux said he loved Desi the best and looked up to him. ^^
*closes Little Ricky's eyes when Desi was drinking* LOL
I think Desi was very generous, even though I think Lucy was too.

What i meant was that BOTH were incredibly generous with family, friends and even strangers their entire lives. HOWEVER, Lucy had the means to do it till the end of her life, Desi had nothing left at the end to do it, because his and his wife's medical bills wiped out what was left after the drinking and gambling took their toll. He took the capital from the sale of HIS share of Desilu to Lucy, and with that 2 and one half million, he lived on the entire amount instead of living off the interest. Edie used to be married to a multimillionnaire, so she found it hard to live like that, having to watch every dollar. If he was the brilliant businessman Lucy made the world think he was to boost him up in the world's eyes, he would have kept the I Love Lucy shows instead of selling them at a low price to CBS to buy a run down movie studio.

Yeah, even in their earliest days, Lucy was smart enough to keep all their money seperate. Which is surprising to us who think she was the ditz she portrayed on TV, far from it, she had stocks and bonds from the very start while he went through money the way i do. True, one has to live well and enjoy our lives, but Lucy thought about the security of never having to worry about money again, she had been poor as a kid, so she knew how important that was, Desi had been a rich spoiled kid, and then lost it all, which could have been a afctor in how he lived his life till the end.

Alcohol like any other serious affliction is not easy on the people surrounding the person suffering through it.

I bet in their earlier years, both Lucy and Desi would be great friends. And I'm sure Desi was a good guy in his later years too, but I'm gonna go with Lucy because she just seems like someone who you'd be able to count on more in the later years.

Actually, BOTH were great friends to many many people, but the turnout at Desi's funeral proved that he wasted his time with the Hollyweird crowd, only Danny Thomas showed up from that group!
