The "WINGS" Photo Shoots - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Some of you (like Peter May) include publicity group photos of the "Wings" cast with your messages, and there are people who sell photos such as these on eBay....

I am always amazed at the quantity and uniqueness of these photos. Most of the ones from the early seasons are pretty straightforward....Helen sitting on her lunch counter between Joe and Brian, the cast sitting on luggage in the hangar, etc....

However, many of the photos from the later years are VERY imaginative....cast members dressed in WWI Flying Ace garb while looking up at the sky, the group playing with a bunch of toy airplanes, etc. (Most of these imaginative, and sometimes even BIZARRE shots are from the "Casey" years).

The publicity photo output for this series was quite impressive....especially since "Wings" never seemed to be promoted by NBC to begin with, and since they were still having numerous publicity photo sessions so late in the series' run.

One thing is common among all of the "Wings" photos from all of the seasons....the cast always looks like they're having FUN posing for those pictures!

Pilotguy, there was one advertising campaign that NBC did for Wings that I remember and it was great. I don't know if you remember these adds, but proabably in the late 80's or early 90's some perfume company like "Obsession" or something like that used to make these TV adds where every person was dressed in black and they would have these close up shots of the man and woman posing, and looking away, and a voice over would say something ridiculous like "she knew something.....obsessed her."

Anyway, Wings did these TV promotional spots where they spoofed those adds, where all the cast members were dressed in black and they would say these idiotic things. They were so funny....if a DVD was ever released it would be great if they put those promotional adds on it, I would love to see them again.

lol oh man that sounds funny. I hope if they do release Wings on DVD they'd put those ads on there as extras.
Hmm.. I wonder what kind of cool extras would be on those Wings DVD's if it ever happens that it's released on DVD... I want bloopers!! lol.

Speaking of bloopers, I'm not into profanity, but for some reason I think that it would be hilarious to see Rebecca "Fay" Schull flub one of her lines, and then break into a choice cuss word!
Again, I'm not a big fan of public swearing, but just seeing HER doing that would really crack me up!

I agree. They always did look like they were having a great time on the set of Wings.
