Mr. Dewayne Guthrie - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Remember this name folks! This guy is a master of con-artistry. Guthrie, who's real name is Danny Guthrie has scammed several people including myself and from what others had said, for a couple of years now. I saw his post from the Archie Bunker's Place board over a month ago and he went by the name Coach Man. He said he was putting up 57 eps of ABP for $40 + $6 for shipping for a grand total of $46. I sent him a money order for $46. Then I notice his message from the ABP board was removed. I got a little suspcious. I then discovered the tape trading board about a few days after sending the money order and saw Chad Palmer's post about avoiding sitcoms_galore@yahoo.com. I said oh no! I am going to get screwed out of my money. At first, Guthrie responds to your e-mail and evens e-mails you to ask if that money order was mailed or not. Once he gets his money order, he's done with you, and a another one falls victim to his scheme of things. When he didn't respond several days after I e-mailed him to see when he was mailing my tapes, no response. So I called his home (he actually gave me a correct phone number to his address) and his wife, Betty Guthrie answers. I asked for Mr. Guthrie. She said, what's the first name? Right there I got her. I said Dewayne. Obviously, he has different first names to different cons of stuff. She of course didn't know what was going on, but said he'll e-mail you today as he was out of town. Well, he must have gotton back in town in a hurry because his e-mail was in my inbox within an hour after I call. He said the money order arrived 2 days ago and the tapes will be sent out the next day. I was hopeful, but I knew he was lying. I allowed about 5 days before I got ugly with him. Then that Wednesday, I revealed to Guthrie that I knew who he was and what he had done to others and that I would not tolerate being scammed. I told him if those tapes were not mailed real real soon to me, all 57 eps of ABP in excellent quality, I would in fact tell all here on the board and to report him to the Mail Fraud Bureau. (Anyone wanting to see exactly what I wrote to him, e-mail me at dbking47@hotmail.com and I will forward my special message of this piece of trash to you). He responded the next day with a delivery confirmation number and my package arrived 2 days later, only to find 1 tape of 10 eps of ABP in poor sound quality. I had to turn up the sound volume to get a good hear of the dialog. I was furious. I e-mailed him demanding the other 47 eps of ABP and to this day no response. I gave him a 2-week deadline of August 12th to have those tapes mailed to me and he failed to even respond. I guess that is what I get for discovering this tape trading board too late. That however, will never happen again. To Chad Palmer and Jennifer 1234, who has experience with this con-artist, whom never received their order from him, I do have his home phone number and if you don't want to give up, harass this guy to death until he produces your tapes with at least half way decent quality. So without further ado, here is the info on Mr. Con-Artist himself - Dewayne Guthrie.

His current e-mail address is sitcoms_galore@yahoo.com. I believe someone posted a website to go to about reporting mail-frauds. I will head over there in abit to report this joker to them and if anyone else had problems with him in the past, I advised you to do the same. Let's put these people out of business and let them know this type of criminal and inmoral behavior will not be tolerated. Thank You!

I'm sorry to see this guy scammed another person on here. I had a similar experience with him, after weeks and months of nagging a few tapes tricked in but the quality was so bad it gave you a headache watching it.

To top it off the tape he sent had been reused multiple times prior to his recording the stuff he sent on them.
