A friend of mine who works on the show says that the cast just signed on for a sixth season. There was alot of thought that this upcoming season (season 5) would be the last. Now there will be at least one more.

Good. I would have been way bummed if that had happened. I didn't have HBO until two Soprano seasons ago. I used to hear about the Sopranos but never gave it much thought. I've always been a fan of gangster movies and books. I've read some of the history and some of their crazy bios. When I finally started watching the Sorpanos these past seasons I got into the show in a big way. I didn't know there was talk of the show not returning. I'm looking forward to the new season!

The new season should start in March or April, but that's not definite.

The Sopranos season 5 will premiere Sunday, March 7th, 2004. The Sopranos wins 4 Emmy® awards this year including Outstanding Lead Actor (James Gandolfini) & Outstanding Lead Actress (Edie Falco) in a Drama Series.
