In the last episode, JR is in South Fork alone, upset and depressed. We hear a gun shot, and then Bobby comes in.

Then it goes to the movie done a few years later. What happened?? How was the gunshot explained, because we know JR lived?

Bobby walked into JR's room and saw that JR shot his mirror. JR then left for Europe and was in exile for 5 years . JR returned to Dallas as the movie began.

also in the movie, J.R. had given up drinking. Ithink it had something to do with the fact that Larry Hagman had just undergone a liver transplant the year before.
