It's an anniversary of sorts...

It was two years ago on this day (August 10) I crashed my bicycle on the corner of 48th and Tenth Avenue.
I broke my left collarbone which required two surgical procedures and stainless steel pins and wires to put it back together again.

I made today extra special by staying the Hell away from my bike - I thought of going for a ride but I really didn't want to jinx myself.

With this in mind, I thought I would pass on to you some important safety tips.

1. Red Means Stop I cannot stress this enough. If you are going to follow any rule in your life, it should be this one.

2. Always Wear A Helmet And I just don't mean while participating in sporting activities. I mean all the time. Some are very stylish and can complement any wardrobe.

3. Cycling Shorts Look Good On Everyone But Me
Not really a safety tip, I have body image issues.

With that in mind, I hope all of you stay safe and use common sense in whatever activities you participate in, or you'll end up like I did; sitting on the couch for ten weeks with your arm in a sling doing nothing but watching TV, going out drinking every night, sleeping late every day, all while collecting disablity.

Watching TV and sleeping all day...if only there was a less painful way to go about it...at least for a day or two during school.

Well...at least you had a good reason to break your collarbone...whenever my sister tells ppl how she broke hers they just laugh...a door fell on her when she was like...4.
