Default Time Travel IS Possible

Has anyone else hear did any research on Time Travel? I Did today and was amazed at what i found. It actually is possible, Maybe not like you see on A Science Fiction movie or anything...But possible.

According to this Article http://www.timetravelinstitute.com/article_tti.php?2734

"Gott estimates that our best current time traveler is Russian cosmonaut Sergei Avdeyev who was in orbit for a total of 748 days during three space flights. Avdeyev's prolonged travel made him a younger man — by about one-50th of a second — than those of us who have remained on Earth."

That may not seem like much, But personally i see it as progress. Can you imagine if their someday able to actually master Time Travel?

A while ago I did a little research on the possibility of time travel.
I also searched for 'Astral Projection' which enables time travel by leaving the body- and someone even built a machine that not only treats pain but if you're on a spiritual 'power line' on earth it helps you astral project. I'm not sure if it's true- there are a few inventions out- and some people write very long scientific articles that are hard to believe are pranks- someone wrote that they invented something to make the flux of time thinner- so you could send an object through time- they wrote like 20 pages and a blueprint.

This news about staying 1/50 of a second younger is ok news- but like most science news now- it doesn't really affect people much (like everyday somewhere they post a new discovery like 'cow milk is a strong acid' when it doesn't affect people much) however it is interesting- especially if you want to live in space. But then if everyone was living in space you'd all be the same again- eveneing it out so no one is 1/50 of a second younger.

This is interesting stuff, but as the article said, it was first discovered about a century ago. If you could travel close to the speed of light, then turn around and come back, you would find that you had aged less than the place you left behind. It seems to just be a property of the universe that isn't normally apparent, since we cant travel that fast at the moment. The speed of light is about 670 million miles an hour. You can't use this to go into the past, either, just to move into the future faster than your surroundings do.

It is interesting that 'travelling' at the speed of light is considered time travel (into the future) because travelling is just that- moving forward or backward in the universe- just as you drive a car. But then time and space do have to be connected in some way.

This is getting confusing- I find it hard to understand how even travelling at the speed of light could enable moving into the future faster than your surroundings- then again stars we see in the sky- most are dead but we still see their light.

However if you wanted to 'see' the past what you would need to do would be travel a little faster than the speed of light- thus you could see Earth as it was seconds in the path. now if you could travell alot faster than light you could travel far into the universe and see earth using a device with the ability of almost infinite magnifying abilitys- allowing you to see what's happening on earth (maybe watch some old tv shows)

I'm confused by this all- is anyone else

You cannot travel at the speed of light, nor can you travel faster than light. At least, no one can figure out how you could travel faster than light without passing through the speed of light, which is prohibited. Energy can travel at the speed of light, but matter cannot. But if you travel close to the speed of light, this phenomenon begins to become apparent. Actually, it occurs at any speed, but is a tiny effect unless the speed is close to that of light. It is not related to the time light takes to reach our eyes from distant objects. In fact, it has nothing to do with light at all, but rather with the speed. If you want to understand it more, look at any book about the Special Theory of Relativity.

The radio show is on like 500 different radio stations around the world... and starts at 10PM Pacific 1AM eastern (4 hours)... Your station however may not play it at the time and instead play it the following day or at a later time.....

go to www.coasttocoastam.com to find out what station its on near you as well as schedule and such...

Lightbulb Time travel

Coolness!!! Now I have another idea for a screenplay!!! I've always been interested in time travel (as evidenced by posts last year on the FOL site).

FOL is the show the Facts of Life, you can find it on the 80's TV sitcom boards. It's where I get my name, Captain A-BLAIR-ica, from Blair Warner. Last year I wrote about my meeting Lisa Whelchel years ago in L.A. in a series of episodic posts called "Dancing in Lisa's Time Machine", kind of a fun little sci-fi title. I found out I haven't even finished it!

in theroy i guess it's possible. The shortest distance between points is a stright line but if you bend that line then you get time travel. We need to get a bunch of spacers from dune then we could do it!

Oh and if anyone went back in time doing pretty much anything would change the futre forever

If you'd really like to understand it, you'll have a better chance of doing that by reading a book about Relativity rather than watching a fiction movie. Most of what you see in movies about time travel is pretty much fantasy. There are many good books on this subject. For anyone who is a little more adventurous mathematically, try Einstein's "The Meaning of Relativity," which is a compilation of a series of talks he gave.

Even if time travel punishments were imposed, you could still go back and kill the guy that would come up with time travel laws and thus haywire would ensue. But also- if the present has occured, and you go back in time- the present time still exists- so if you alter something then yes the present will be altered- but the people or events you changed would still exist in an alternate time if you think about it.
