Well the show became Sanford Arms because Lamont wanted more money and Redd Foxx had a better offer from ABC. So Sanford Arms has Aunt Esther as the Landlady for Sanford Arms and Bubba WAS the Bellhop. Sanford Arms lasted 4 weeks.

On Sanford it was explained that Lamont was working on a Alaskan pipeline

A good finale for Sanford and Son would be FRed and Lamont retiring from the junk business and moving to Arizona.

They should have had Lamont marry Janet. Then have them move away with Fred going with them.

Cal was'nt all that bad. The only episode of Sanford that i remember was the one where Cal's mother was coming to visit. I remember Fred up in Lamont's old bedroom changing the bed. He used a pair of Cal's underwear as pillow cases cause they were so big.

"Sanford" was shown on BET some years ago and luckily I had the brains to tape them. Now, there's a show that won't be put out on DVD anytime soon............DARN!!!!!!!!!

The only thing you would ever find funny about CAL is his weight. other than that what was there to like about this guy...

I always did find it fitting that an excellent "final episode" would've been Lamont marrying Janet, and moving in next door the junkyard-I never did like the "Sanford Arms" concept. Fred would also end up marrying Donna and she would move into his house, but for some reason, she would never get along with Janet, so that would've provided more material for future episodes...Would've been horrible if Fred did have the "big one" in the last episode!!

Sanford and Son had one of the worst final episodes I have ever seen , what a waste. I agree that should had ended that show with Lamont getting married, or maybe a double wedding with both Lamont and Fred getting married at the same time to Janet and Donna

That's what made it more hilarious Lamont had a personality-he was no dummy, but you could see that Cal was overweight. It's too bad Sanford didn't last longer.
