Anyone Agree that Happy Days and Sanford and Son on TV LAND is getting - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

STALE??????. I mean these two shows are recycled over and over. Time for the new shows for the Fall. And it's worse with Sanford and Son because it was a 5-year show so it seems like the first season is showed ALL THE TIME.

Thats because they show it more than once a day. If they showed it once a day it wouldn't get stale.

Exactly, airing a show 4 times in one day that only has 135 episodes makes no sense.

Exactly, and I think TV Land should cut down on both of those shows (Sanford & Son and Happy Days), and place the shows in those time-slots that rarely get any airtime a chance and I'm not referrring to the shows that have a season or two worth of episodes, because it dosen't make sense for them to be "Twice as Nice" block, like they will be doing with Gidget in September.

Personally i think they should just get rid of Twice As Nice and air everything once a day. Or air Each show twice a day but in different parts of the day, Like repeating the one they showed earlier.

Yeah I totally agree.
Seeing Sanford and Son, even though I am a fan of the show, gets pretty repetitious seeing the program four times a day.

I think TV Land should show certain programs once and replace their other time slots with other shows that have not been seen for a while, like Chico and the Man or other television classics that people miss seeing

Well "Curb Your Enthusiasm" is on 1 time a day (3 times a day on Mondays) and that only has 30 episodes.Of course, That isn't TV Land.

I think that if a show has 180 or more episodes should be shown in the Twice As Nice block so that it won't take so long to get through the ENTIRE series. With that said, Happy Days is where it belongs: TWICE AS NICE!

I think Twice is Nice is a nice way to attract viewers to TVLands' newest entries. But once it's been on TVLand for a while it should probably leave "Twice As Nice."

I absolutely agree, BLT! "Bewitched" and "I Dream of Jeannie" have been there for a little over two months. They should both leave it by September. "Sanford & Son" has been there for 7 months now, so it totally needs to get out of Twice as Nice. "Happy Days" has been there off and on, mostly on, for the past two years, so it DEFINATLY needs to go from TAN. "Gilligan's Island" has been there on and off also so it needs to go from it too.

I sorta agree with what Chad said. Most sitcoms on the TVLand lineup have between 100 and 200 episodes, and they can be shown once a day, maybe twice, if they were spaced out, and they can go through the lineup in good time, and the viewers and fans won't be tired of the show. But there are some shows that have 200+ or even 250+ episodes that should be played twice a day. I know that "Happy Days" has 255 episodes, but it has been in Twice as Nice for far too long, and should be taken off the network completely. Classics from the 1950s and early 1960s tend to have much more episodes than those from the late 1970s-1990s. For example, "The Donna Reed Show" ran from 1958 to 1966 and had 275 episodes. "Three's Company" ran from 1977 to 1984 and had 172 episodes. I think that those classics should be aired maybe twice a day, but spread out. If TVLand was ever to pick up "Peyton Place," it would be very wise to air it at least three times a day, but spread out, because it had 513 half hour episodes. I say that they could it air it at (central times) 10am, 5:30pm, and 11pm. That would be pretty spaced out, and if they aired it seven days a week, it would take almost four months to go through one rotation. I think they'd be pretty good. Hint hint....*GET THE RIGHTS TO "PEYTON PLACE," TVLAND!*
