Default So Many Channels, So Few Good Shows in Reruns

With all the channels that are out today, why is it that it's just the same sitcoms being rerun. Like "The Cosby Show". It's on TBS, WGN, and N@N. Pretty soon "Roseanne" will be on both N@N and Oxygen. Let's get some other shows in the rerun game. And it seems like most of the TBS shows move on to N@N. Some examples; "Coach", "Roseanne", "Fresh Prince", "Full House" and like I mentioned "The Cosby Show". Why can't those shows take a good six year break and then come to N@N.

Anyways what are all of your thoughts on this topic?

Oh, I quite agree. And what really aggravates me is that they'll take a show and run it four or five times a day till even the most loyal fans get sick of it. There's so many good shows out there and we keep ending up with the same ten or twelve. And then when they actually do drag out the good stuff, they put it on at some ungodly hour of the morning so they can squeeze in more hooey during prime time. I've seen it a million times.
OK, time for me to hop off the ol' .
Any other comments and/or nasty noises?

Yep. Some shows are so overrated that they get played over and over again and some shows are so underrated that they never get shown.

I agree. They need to get rid of the Cosby Show and replace it with something good.

Ugh. So many good shows gathering dust while we're forced to watch endless reruns of cult crap like The Brady Bunch and overplayed stuff like I Love Lucy.

There is NOTHING on television.
Thank God for VHS and DVD's.
The only thing I watch on TV is the stockmarket, TV Land and this gem show channel. and pretty soon I am going to limit my viewing of TV Land because some of my favorite shows are going to be replaced with garbage

The only time I am going to watch TV Land when Wecome Back, Kotter and WKRP is on in September

I wonder what the point is in rerunning certain shows to death. Most of them are shows everyone is sick of anyway, why not try something new? Sheesh.

I enjoyed Tv Land last summer when they had The Rookies, S.W.A.T. and Mary Hartman but they never showed every episode. They also only showed The George Burns And Gracie Allen show on once a week. Well at least Flip Wilson will be coming back next year.

You can say that again. I can flip through a hundred different channels, and yet there really doesn't seem to be much on. Not in the variety category, at least. I don't watch much network television, except for Thursday nights on NBC.

And when you want to watch something late at night, on any given day, you're bombared with nothing but informercials. A friend of mine and I were talking about that old show they used to air on USA, called Night Flight. That was the best!
