Don't know if this has been posted yet but on Tuesday, August19 at 8:00 P M EST TVLand is having a special "The 40 Top Theme Songs" This should be interesting. From what I saw each song will have a segment spotlight with the stars of the shows. Does anybody else know anymore about this? Wonder what the top song will be?
My guesses for the top 10 are; Gilligan's Island The Brady Bunch Facts Of Life Hawaii Five-O Welcome Back Kotter The Rockford Files Mary Tyler Moore Show The Dukes Of Hazzard LaVerne and Shirley Different Strokes I am probably way off but those are the ones that leapt into my head! What do you guys think?

I think "Gilligan's Island" is going to be number one, and "Brady Bunch" is going to be the runner-up. "Happy Days" is going to be in the top 10 as well.

TV Land will be re-airing the same episode "Inside TV Land: Top 40 Theme Songs" that aired on TV Land last November. If you would like to see the complete list of TV Land's Top 40 Theme Songs, click below:

i can't believe they left Roseanne out. But I guess they weren't rating the entire opening sequence. Roseanne's kitchen table opening (for season 1-7) is a classic that perfectly fit the show.

I never caught this, so I'll be tuning in. Nice to see that The Dukes of Hazzard theme made it on the list.

I don't need to see any list. I've compiled my own Top 40 favorite themes. How many do you agree with, or even remember?
1. Green Acres 2. I Dream Of Jeannie 3. The Partridge Family 4. The Monkees 5. The Brady Bunch 6. Happy Days 7. The Addams Family 8. Gilligan's Island 9. Mr. Ed 10. George Of The Jungle 11. Laverne and Shirley 12. Car 54, Where Are You? 13. Hogan's Heroes 14. One Day At A Time 15. The Flintstones 16. Get Smart 17. The Beverly Hillbillies 18. Josie and The Pussycats 19. The Greatest American Hero 20. Welcome Back, Kotter 21. Three's Company 22. The Dick Van Dyke Show 23. The Jeffersons 24. Dallas 25. Bonanza 26. The Courtship Of Eddie's Father 27. Friends 28. The Mary Tyler Moore Show 29. The Golden Girls 30. Arthur 31. Scooby Doo, Where Are You? 32. The Mickey Mouse Club (1955-59) 33. H.R. Pufnstuf 34. The Banana Splits 35. Diff'rent Strokes 36. The Facts Of Life 37. The Munsters 38. Ally McBeal 39. Love, American Style 40. Howdy Doody Interesting how the best shows seem to have the best themes. I don't believe that's a coincidence. Out of my Top 10 picks, 8 of them are in my top 20 favorite sitcoms list. That's not a coincidence either. |

I don't have the CD called "TV Land's Top 40 Theme Songs". I like the theme songs from one of my favorite shows. "Full House", "The Golden Girls", "So Little Time", "The Love Boat", "Fat Albert", "Lizzie McGuire", "Sex and the City" (a little jazzy opening), "Match Game" and "The Price Is Right".

One of my favorites right now is the theme song to the short-lived family/workplace comedy hybrid "Home Free"
