Cool Copycats

Everyone here knows Cheers is absolutely the best show there ever was, obviously. Anyway, to get to the actual topic I was watching t.v yesterday, Will and Grace to be exact, and I noticed that they copied a story line from Cheers! It's when Will and Grace both want a baby so they decide to have one together, but not be "together". Copied straight from Cheers!!! Can anyone else think of a show where they copied a story line or something else from Cheers?

*i know this isn't the most interesting post but i really am very bored right now

I think James Burrows (one of the creators of Cheers), is a director on Will & Grace.

on one episode of Seinfeld; Jerry and Elaine were fighting and it reminded me of sam and diane's. jerry and elaine had eachother's fingers pointed in eachother's face and they were both saying "get your finger out of my face" they both stopped for a second but started right up again. kinda like I'll be Seeing You (2), but with pointing instead of slaps.

JERRY: Yes, I'm proud to say I did!
KRAMER: So, you're still master of your domain.
JERRY: Yes. Yes I am. Master of my domain. But I will tell you this: I am going over to (Gestures to the nudist) her apartment, and I'm tellin' her to put those shades down!
KRAMER: Woah, woah, woah. What-what did you just say?
JERRY: I can't take it anymore! She's driving me crazy! I can't sleep, I can't leave the house, and I' here, I'm climbin' the walls. Meanwhile, I'm dating a virgin, I'm in this contest - something's gotta give!

the episode of wings where helen was up in the plane, and the pilot was dead and she had to land it herself. even though in Fear is my Co-Pilot, he wasn't really dead, it was still the same kind of thing

Burrows IS a director (or something) on Will & Grace. It makes Woody Harrelson's appearences more convenient

A lot of shows run similar storylines, based on the successes they've had on other shows.

I know this will probably make a lot of people on this board angry, or at least stir up something, but I find MANY parallels between Cheers and Friends. Also there are parts of Cheers that are similar to other shows before Cheers (of course I cant come up with anything SPECIFIC now) It's the actors delivery of the lines, and the different ways the jokes are handled that make the same situation work in so many different shows.

cheers was definitly an inspiration for shows like friends and seinfeld, where the 'friends' are so close, it's almost like one big, funny family
