Default Today's Trucker Episode

Jenny and I both think this episode kinda stinks, so I'm just going to ramble about it.

This has to be one of the most unbelieveable episodes I've seen so far. The most unbelievable parts were anytime they were on the road.

Like when David's driving the little red Plymouth, running from the bad guys in the truck. He's going like 80, and the girl tells him to turn. So he takes the turn at like 70. And he didn't lose it?? C'mon. And seriously...that truck couldn't have gone that fast, that quick.

Did anyone notice the sped-up film??

Oh, and this is little, but I'm weird, so I notice this stuff. One time they showed the odometer of the Plymouth. I swear it said 75K. They show it again, and I swear it rolled back, 'cause now it said 50K-something. Uh huh. Different car, right?

But...at the very end...I wanted to be the girl.

"Never Give a Trucker an Even Break" is one of the worst episodes of the show. Steven Spielberg was upset that footage from his film "Duel" was used in this episode but since both he and the series were with Universal Pictures, he could do nothing about it.

I love that episode.

Did you know...
They used footage from the TV movie "Duel" for all the truck/car chase scenes, including the climactic truck dive at the end.

After this episode aired, the director of "Duel" a guy by the name of Steven Spielberg sued for using footage from his movie in such a way.

This is why Steven Spielberg is not a fan of this series.

That's exactly what I was thinking when the Hulk her carried off, then set her down.. and then, of course, at the very end. Mmmm, mmmm.

I have always heard that this particular episode is what many fans consider to be their least favorite, or at least one of their least favorites. I actually enjoyed it! Yeah, even though the scenes from Duel were more than obvious. I noticed the sped up film too, and those mistakes.

I think this episode can be considered a "ship show."

What is a ship show? Well, in the various Star Trek series, the producers in an attempt to save money would make sure a few episodes of each season were done with a modest budget, so they would do a "ship" show or "bottle" show, so the crew stayed on the ship, with no expensive locations, extras, or special effects.

This episode of "Hulk" is shot mostly on location in the middle of nowhere, with no expensive sets, and a majority of the action shots were taken from another movie.

The ship show. Save a buck or two...

Good point. Guess they were saving up for today's show, what with all the medical equipment in there.
