Thumbs up

It would be a cross between Parker Williams, Dee Shepard and Hampton Forbes.

Lol

I loved Bubba, Louann and Sweet! I'm sorry, but I could not STAND Parker! He was so wimpy and annoying. Gillespie would get so aggravated at him!

Yeah, I guess Parker could be aggravating at times but he offered comic relief which was badly needed in most episodes!(some very grim)
I happen to know a guy in my small town who is very much like Parker. This person knows everybody in town and is very nice and unbiased. Everybody loves him! He passed away recently(only 64 years old) and his online funeral home guestbook was filled to the brim with heartfelt condolences and warm memories. I expect Parker would have had the same effect on the people in Sparta.

Random:

Bubba

LuAnn

Parker - though he can be a nuisance at times, he does provide some comic relief, too.

It would be a tie between Tibbs and Bubba. I also liked Parker. It's a shame that the writers would use Parker to advance the plot by having him say or do something stupid. I understand doing it sometimes but there is too much of Parker being an incompetent fool.

Default Jamison

I really like Lonnie Jamison. I love the scenes that he and Bill do together. I am sure that Carroll was so proud to do the scenes together.

I don't know if any of you noticed that in the first couple of seasons Lonnie was more lighthearted and smiled a lot. But later on there is a noticeable change in his personality. He became very sarcastic and grumpy. I'm wondering if this was due to his drug use and it came through his on air persona? Carroll O'Connor hired him onto the show to get him on location and away from his drug connections . But sadly members of the show's crew(cameramen, techies's, etc. ) supplied his habit. So sad for both of them.

I did notice the change in his attitude. He was happier in the early seasons. Sad the way things worked out.
