Angry The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Remake

A Remake of the horror classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will be released in november of 2003. it will be starring jessica biel. i bet it will suck horribly like the Psycho remake. TCM is one of those movies where a remake is a dumb, dumb idea. i will still see it, but i'm ready to be dissapointed majorly. i bet it'll turn out to be one of those poplular teen flicks like I Know What You Did Last Summer 1 and 2, the Scream sequels, and The Ring. all these kids who don't know crap about good horror/thriller movies like the original TCM, Deliverance, Psycho, The Evil Dead, Halloween and Friday the 13th will all be saying how this remake is so much better than the original just because it's new and has popular teen actors and actress' in it. argh...

Here's a pic from the original horror masterpiece:

JERRY: Yes. Yes I am. Master of my domain. But I will tell you this: I am going over to (Gestures to the nudist) her apartment, and I'm tellin' her to put those shades down!
KRAMER: Woah, woah, woah. What-what did you just say?
JERRY: I can't take it anymore! She's driving me crazy! I can't sleep, I can't leave the house, and I' here, I'm climbin' the walls. Meanwhile, I'm dating a virgin, I'm in this contest - something's gotta give!

How many remakes of this classic are they going to make? The first movie was good but the sequels and the movie with Renee Zellweger was just awful.

I've been trying to forget about this movie ever since I first heard about it. For me, the 'remake' will never be able to hold a candle to the original, never. I wish Hollywood would learn to leave well enough alone.

I've been guilty of saying this a few times, myself. No offense to anyone who actually enjoys remakes (no matter what age you happen to be), but why not go out to your local video store and rent the originals?

Too many people are ignorant, (I sound like Michael Jackson) that's why some films are remade. When people see a film in a rental store with a date on it before 1990, they just think immediately the films bad because it's a bit old. And when they see a film in black and white they think it's bad because it doesn't have colour. Maybe other remakes are made because the director is a big fan of the original.
Psycho's remake was relatively successful, and I usually don't immediately just reject a remake like most people usually would. I haven't seen TCM but I know enough about it to know a remake really shouldn't be done. How can you remake a film that was successful because of it's rough effects and low-budget quality? Because the original was so successful and made so much money, the studios will have put more money into this remake, so you can bet it'll be another 'Hollywood' film with too much big-budget affects and production aspects. I think the remake will do well though- because as much as a fan of a film hates the thought of a remake, they'll go see it out of curiousity- and so will all the teeny boppers that love being scared b 'new' movies.
i'm really not sure what kind of film is a scary film now, there's all different kinds- but they are going downhill. The Ring however was a better film, but a different kind of horror. Freddy's Dead, which I just saw- is laughable and Freddy seems to crack too many jokes to be taken seriously as a killer. Though I am looking forward to the Stepford Wives remake.

Stop The Madness, Stop the War, STOP THE REMAKES!

Yeah. Enough of this "remaking it for a new generation" crap.

Leave well enough alone.

Although the idea of watching Jessica Biel being hacked to pieces sounds like fun.

Yeah, they've really beaten that franchise into the ground.

I agree, the original TCM is a classic and now they are going to screw it up by making a remake. Movies sure are going to hell these days. They don't make them like they used to.

And not all of the sequels sucked. TCM2 was pretty good, but 3 and 4 sucked big time!
