Miami Vice was a ground breaking show. They incorporated music and culture like none before. They created a romantic excitement. Even if your better sense told you that you were being drawn into an elevated fantasy it was hypnotic. I'll bet a lot of people during that era bought a lot of clothes and cars and chicks, lol, that they couldn't afford. They all wanted to be Sonny Crockett or Ricardo Tubbs.

Well, at the time "Miami Vice" went off the air, I saw something on the news that showed this one prominent street in Miami before and after the series. Before the series, it looked like any other urban street, but afterwards, it looked like something out of the show with pink and blue pastel shades, neon lights, and art deco style buildings. Apparently the real Miami had alterred itself to resemble the Miami of the series. When real life starts immitating a TV show, I'd say that makes the show pretty influential.

Wow, that's very interesting Brandon. I would imagine that Miami did have a big tourist spill over due to Miami Vice. It stands to reason that they would play it. I hear that theme tune right now in my head, lol.

Yeah, I wish it was still on. I have most of the episodes on tape.
