Does anyone live near or in Anaheim?
I'm interested in sightseeing information, things to do, how close things like the beach, Hollywood (the sign!) and the Walk of Stars, etc are from Anaheim. Any details and such would be great

well thanks, I think, but I'm looking for some specifics. We really have no plans at the moment and I hate to think I'm heading all the way out there and won't have anything to do. We are 100% completely unfamiliar with that area. I'm thinking they don't have signs that say "sidewalk of stars this way" and "Big Hollywood sign this way". |

Okay, first off Anaheim is not in Los Angeles County. Hollywood is part of the City of Los Angeles. They are quite distant, but as are all things in the area, they are easily connected by freeway. Anaheim is where Disneyland is located.
The Walk of Fame, unless I'm misremembering, is on Hollywood Blvd, in Hollywood. I could have the street wrong, but... The fancy shops on Rodeo Drive are literally on one block of Rodeo, in Beverly Hills. Of course, Rodeo Drive is longer than that, but the cutesy stores that make the postcards are on the one block. Beverly Hills is kind of like the inland part of the L.A. Westside, which includes Malibu, Santa Monica, Westwood, West LA, Palms, Venice, etc. |

Taking Wilshire Blvd. and Sunset Blvd. all the way to the end (west) will take you to Santa Monica, a beach city. I prefer the beaches farther north, like Malibu, Zuma, and Leo Carrillo because they are not as crowded. These beaches can be found by driving north on highway one from Santa Monica. |

Anaheim is in Orange County
If you travel to the Orange County area I highly recommend areas like Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Costa Mesa. Very pretty Beach cities. |

This site will tell you all about Grauman's Chinese Theater. It even provides a map of how to get there. The theate is the center location of the Walk of the Stars. That's where you want to go. It's very famous so be sure to get maps or study this one on this site. Maybe you can print it out. DO NOT try driving from Anahiem to Hollywood without a map. It's not difficult and it's a short trip but you don't want to make wrong turns or get onto the wrong freeways in Los Angeles or Orange County.
Since you'll be in Anahiem you should go to Disneyland too. If you're a baseball fan take in an Angel's game if their at home while you're there. Here is the Theater site: Have FUN! ![]() http://www.seeing-stars.com/Immortal...orecourt.shtml |

Thanks everyone
![]() We are skipping Disneyland even though it is close. First, we are on a tight budget going on there and second I just was in Disneyworld 3 weeks ago so I'm not really interested in going back. We want to see the Hollywood Walk Of Fame - that's a biggie. My friend wants to do the Rodeo Drive thing although I wonder if I can afford to even LOOK in the windows? We are looking into doing a Studio Tour, preferably NBC since that's the network I watch the most. Has anyone done one of these? They say they go on the hour and are first come first serve. So are they always packed and should we arrive early? Is there anything special we should know about doing those tours, or attempting to? We will be taking a cab. We are flying out from the east coast into LAX and taking a cab to our hotel so we won't have a car rental. That ensures that we won't get lost either. If anyone has other suggestions or offerings please post. Our nights are booked with conventions for work but we are free during the day and looking for fun stuff to do! |

I love Anaheim! Best place ever, it's so much fun. I'm going on August 5th, I'm so excited, and yeah we're going to Disneyland... for the second time this year. I'm staying till the 10th.
