Default Did Steve Urkel ever mention anything about having relatives in San Francisco because

if not, that means the crossover episode with Full House will make no sense at all.

I don't think so...

And you're right - the crossover episode didn't make any sense from a plot standpoint. I think the only reason they brought Steve Urkel over was because they needed a well-known person external to Full House to make Stephanie feel better about needing glasses. Basically, Steve Urkel was needed to make some serious episode progress to keep the episode within the timeframe, since I don't think that Danny, Jesse, and Joey would be able to do that and keep the whole thing under 30 minutes.

Urkel just didn't look right on the Full House set. Like you said it was just a way to boost ratings for Full House. And the season that crossover made, Full House finshed ahead of Family Matters so I guess it worked.

Better ratings or not, Family Matters was far and away the better show.

Urkel on Full House is probably one of, if not my FAVORITE episode of Full House.

Steve came to San Francisco for the science fair, he was staying with his cousin, who was a friend of D.J.'s. I can't remember her name, but this was the only episode she appeared in.
