Peter, when I tried to visit the site I got this message:
The web site you are trying to access has exceeded its allocated data transfer. Of course, you could be working on the site as I type this.

OK, I was able to get to the site.....nice work Peter! The articles are great. I'd never seen the Weber interview before.
I found these two quotes by Steven very interesting. You know, "Wings" was kind of a funny experience because it ran for almost eight years, but yet it was sort of under the radar at the same time. It was never a critical success, but a lot of people watched it. Wings was never critically acclaimed at all. It was never recognized. It had minimal press, not for lack of trying. And I find it interesting how something can be so widely disseminated and absorbed and enjoyed by people just by word of mouth. |

Something else that I forgot to mention in my previous message....
It's very interesting to read the interview comments by Steven, Crystal and Tony regarding the series....It sounds like they were quite aware of the status of the show. They never had any grand illusions where they thought that "Wings" was more popular or critically-acclaimed than it was. Steven had the attitude "Nobody likes us but the public" (which was quite true), while Crystal and Tony knew that the series had pretty much exhausted itself by the 8th season. (It was interesting to read that Tony was planning on leaving the series at the end of Season 8 anyway, even if it had been renewed for a 9th season. He had a "Well, my work is done here...time to move on" attitude). When I log onto Peter's "Wings" site, I sit back, roll up my sleeves and think to myself, "Hmmm...let's see what goodies are here for me to check out today". |
