I know Andy Kauffman went on it once and got into a fight in the middle of the skit I think on live television with half of the cast and crew...

I remember it. Like "SNL" it was also done live from New York, and also ran for 90 minutes. Exept it was on Friday nights, instead of Saturday. Also, like "SNL" it stared a group of young comics, and it also had a different host very week. They also had a regular "news" sketch in the show. And it also aired from 11:30 pm to 1 am (in the east).
I remember, though, our local ABC station used to show a movie on Friday nights, and they would show "Fridays" after it was over, at around 1:45 or 2:00.

I watched it a few times, but never could get into it. I do remember the fight that broke out between Andy Kauffman and Michael Richards, though.

this is off topic, but did you know that Andy Kaufmann was first considered for one of the regulars on "S.N.L."?

"Fridays" also starred Melanie Chartoff -- who now does the voice of DeeDee Pickles on "Rugrats".

That "Friday's" brawl was taken from the movie "Man on the Moon" with Jim Carrey.

Shouldn't that be the other way around?

Default What a great show

I thought it was one of the funniest shows on TV - Better than SNL. I rmember so well the skit about the strung out Pharmacist.
