I'm happy they didn't change the schedule around too much. Last time they did, my taping schedule went crazy. I'm glad they're keeping Knots Landing; I'm looking forward to the early episodes of it. And I can't wait for Dallas!

This spread of shows is the one and only reason why I want SoapNet as bad as I do. If I get SoapNet around September 8, before or after it, I would be so happy. I'd be more than happy. I wouldn't be able to enjoy it though, unless it comes on basic cable, because I have no VCR on the TV with digital cable, therefore I wouldn't be able to timer record it. *crosses fingers* I don't see why they have to have two marathons for OLTL and GH over the weekends. Take off one marathon for both and replace them with "Knots Landing" and "Dallas" marathons. If AMC still has two marathons (I think they dropped one for AW), they should put in a "Ryan's Hope" marathon. But anyway, everyone PLEASE PLEASE pray that I get SoapNet PLEASE!!!! I've been wanting it for over a damn year and there have been two periods of channel additions, none of them producing SoapNet. This truely wreeks...

SoapNet is dipping a toe into original scripted programming with a new "micro" series, One Minute Soap.

The network is producing a series of 12 one-minute episodes that will tell two soap-opera story lines.

The episodes will premiere every Monday in the 8 p.m. EST hour beginning Aug. 25, and they will run six times per day.

The first is called Dating Doogie, the second series is called Wannabees.

Full release:
BURBANK, CA - August 5, 2003 - SOAPnet will premiere a new original 'micro' series "One Minute Soap," on Monday, August 25th during the 8PM hour. "One Minute Soap" is an episodic story told over the course of different weeks with a one minute installment premiering every Monday and airing six times a day. Each 60 second episode will end with a cliffhanger.

The 'micro' series has been picked-up for two complete story arcs, to air over 12 weeks. In the first, "Dating Doogie," a buttoned-up business woman is torn when she finds that her blind date, a skateboarding doctor, is actually much younger than she is?..will his age prevent them from being together, even though he makes her heart flutter? In the second, "Wannabees," a case of mistaken identity leads a woman to believe that the man she has fallen for is a struggling artist, while in reality, he is a famous writer?..though she digs him as a pauper, will she love him as a prince?

"In today's world drama can unfold at any minute. At SOAPnet, drama unfolds EVERY minute. As our first foray into original scripted programming, 'One Minute Soap' honors our commitment to viewers who expect more than just today's soaps tonight and who want full immersion in the soap genre," said Deborah Blackwell, General Manager, SOAPnet. "The stories will be filled with the romance and plot twists our viewers love. We are thrilled to be working with the team of Michael Mayer, an exciting young music video director, veteran movie and mini-series producer Sheri Singer and independent feature film writer, Amanda Beall.

Director Michael Mayer is an award-winning short film, commercials, music video and web shorts director. He wrote, produced and directed "The Robber," currently airing on HBO.

Sheri Singer serves as Executive Producer. Former Vice President of Original Movies and Drama Series at Lifetime Television and Senior Vice President of Movies for Television for Walt Disney, Sheri is a principal in Singer/White Entertainment and Just Singer Entertainment. Singer was a producer on "Days of Our Lives" from 1988 to 1990. Currently, Singer is developing a feature film with Heather Graham based on the book, "The Accidental Virgin."

"One Minute Soap" is written by Amanda Beall whose independent feature film "The Girls' Room" is currently airing on Showtime Networks.

That seems cool. The fans definately deserve it. If they air the first episode or two I might tape them, just to say I've seen it's first episodes lol.

A Sonny marathon? How scary. -.- Oh well. As long as they air episodes from when Claire Labine was writing the show *-*

I remember when he was Nicko (sp?) on All My Children. That'd be something to see again.

It looks like they will be (the same episode each day, not two different ones). A part of me wishes it weren't, because it's going to take almost a year to get through a rotation. On the other hand, I like the re-airing because it's an extra chance to get the episode if you missed it earlier.

I'd love to see more old soaps added. I think it is their goal, to add as many soaps as possible. I've heard numerous mentions from Deborah Blackwell, SOAPnet's general manager (or whatever she is) that they've even considered a 2nd soap channel. She's also mentioned scripted series as well (I'd love a new soap, IMHO). Nothing was definite, and it's (as far as I'm aware) just talk on her part, and hope and speculation, but I hope it all comes true. I was never a die-hard soap watcher, but over the past couple of years, I've really gotten into them. Who says straight guys can't watch soaps and enjoy them? lol. There are hundreds who do.

Anyway. I really enjoy watching Another World repeats. NBC made such a mistake cancelling this show. I've thought of hundreds of ways to have saved the show. It was such a mess towards the end.

I digress. LOL...
