As far as musicals about transvestite Aliens go, Rocky Horror is the best! Anyone agree? disagree?

I 100% agree with you Ms Chambers. Have you just seen rocky horror or have you been a fan for a while? I bought it a year ago and still haven't seen it in cinema, or the stage.
Don't dream it be it. But when it comes to movies about Germans with very white skin, Reality TV and Little Black Dresses- (not to mention a primadoona j-lo lead actress) then Shock Treatment is the best. |

Sadly I lost the 2 disc dvd like 2 months ago,and after many efforts to find it I'm probably just gonna buy a new one. I miss some of those special features. Especially audio commentary.
How'd you get into rocky horror? |

Passed down..lol My dad loved Rocky Horror when he was a teen. and he always had the sound track, so I knew the music before the movie. one day last november I am walking around in blockbuster and see it...and then remember the time warp (the song) so I rent it and LOVE it then I get all of my closest friends into it...and then after renting it about 5 times decided to buy it! lol

I came across Rocky Horror again one day searching actors on imdb.com- and I briefly remembered seeing rocky horror in the tv guide months before, and a substitute teacher mentioning it. Then at a video store (one of those stores like 'comic book guys' selling less known or cultfilms) and saw the rocky horror poster. I also remember seeing the DVD in a store by accident, and just after this I went on a hunt to buy the video- which I finally found back at the video store.
By the time I watched the video enough I went to get the dvd- and all the stores with loads of copies had none. I ordered the dvd online then- and weeks later all the stores got it back in. conspiracy. It's actually kinda weird then on how I got into the film. Have you seen the sequel yet dianechambers? |

I just usually refer to people by usernames, cos when I read threads and ppl refer to each other with real names I'm confused.
Yes there is a sequel- well,Richard O'Brien the writer calls it an equal. It's the continuing adventures of Brad and Janet. Called 'Shock Treatment'. If youwatch this film (you can't really rent it now- i just took the risk and bought it) watch it at least 3 times to get used to it. It has practically nothing to do with rocky horror apart from Brad and Janet, Ralph and Betty (betty is played by ruby wax, they're both separated). Betty dates Judge Oliver Wright- played by Charles Gray. And Pat Quinn and Richard O'Brien play brother and sister Cosmo and Nation McKinley- hosts of a reality hospital series. It's very complicated- the songs are great (obrien thinks the soundtracks better than rocky horror- though it's kinda hard now to get the soundtrack, it may have went out of print a few months ago) but I've been setting up a website to explain the film. Though the best Shock Treatment site is www.shocktreatmentnetwork.com I don't recommend comparing it to rocky horror- I merely brought it up because it's of interest to most rocky fans- if you go to rockynewsgroups.com it is a popular subject along with rocky horror. Richard O'Brien did have an original sequel written but a producer recommended it didn't get made- but it's now being made into a play(supposedly). If you join rockynewsgroup.com and inquire about 'Rocky Horror Shows His Heels' they'll give you a link to the 'original sequel' plot |

Were the actors that played Brad, Janet, Ralph, and betty in rocky horror the same ones as in Shock treatment?

The same person plays Ralph (he's actually the only character from rocky horror to return and be played by the same actor- though there was a rumour judge wright was the unnamed 'criminologist')
Ruby Wax is a better Betty- with her magic hairpin I think Jessica Harpers singing has grown on me and it's better than Susan Sarandons. Brad isn't as good- but the guy (cliff deyoung) who plays him also plays Brad's long lost twin brother- who is a great character Barry Humphries (dame edna) plays a TV host who is pretending to be blinding Rik Mayall (drop dead fred, bottom) plays Nurse Ansalongsboyfrind and Little Nell returns as Nurse Ansalong- nation and cosmo's assistant- but it's a very small role that should've been expanded You meet Janet's parents too. The whole town lives off of a tv station run by brad's brother farley, and even sleep in the seats during tapins of shows. If you visit shock treatment network try downloading songs from the film from audio clips, but you really need to see the film to appreciate the soundtrack. I reccomend you download Little Black Dress and 'Look what i did to my ID' |

Maria for a better synopsis (there aren't many on the internet) go to http://www.rockyhorror.com/shkintro.html I found out about shock treatment on the official rocky horror site- when they linked to a page about shock treatment, and I didn't know what it was- it scared me, so I searched imdb.com |
