Talking Interesting thing in TV Guide

There's an interesting mini-article in the newest TV Guide (the one with that dude from the Sopranos on the cover). It talks about how popular Futurama has been on cable and that it's giving Cortoon Network and TBS good ratings.

Then at the bottom it says...*crosses fingers*...that Cartoon Network has been considering reviving the show. New Episodes!!! That would just be wonderful if that happened!!!

Everyone cross their fingers and toes that CTN decides to go for it.

AHHH! If only it could happen, but I heard that each episode of Futurama takes $1.2 million dollars to produce. If Cartoon Network could shell out the money, I'd be the happiest person on earth. [Jumps in Joy]

The only thing I'm worried about is that they try not to alter the animation. If they can just get the same team to work on the show, that'd be great. But if they got new animators, those who'd work for a much cheaper budget, that might bring down the quality of the show. Remember Dexter and the Powerpuff girls? The newest episodes, the animation was so bad, it's unbelievable. I just hope that CN could get this together and work something out.

Wow...I wonder if CN has that much.

And you know, I never did see those PPG eps you were talking about. I swear I can never find that show on the sked...or if I do, and it's actually on when nothing else is, it gets moved a week later. But I agree...the mix of hand-drawn and computer animation made this show unique. I'd hate to have it come out all hand drawn or blurry or something. Blah.

This would be great if it happened. I have an idea for how CN could do this and not lose the quality. Right now, Futurama is being run on TBS and is doing pretty well there. Maybe because of this, CN and TBS could partner up on the new episodes. They could split the costs and air the new episodes on both channels. I'm sure FOX would like this because they could profit from this and from future DVD sales.

I don't think they'll do it. Because, the last episode of the show is airing on the 10th, and I saw the plot for it, and it looks like it'd be impossible for it to come back.

Not true. Matt and his crew did make a last episode, but they didn't make it where it'd be impossible to continue on from there. During their hiatus in February of 2002, they never intented to have it be the series finale. They only made it because just incase FOX cancelled the show, (Which, surprise, surprise, it did), so the show didn't end on a sour note. But it deifnantely could be contiunued on.

No, I mean plotwise. I dunno, unless they leave some kind of loophole.
