Probably because 8 simple rules couldn't compete with American idol from jan to may.

Yeah, but ABC would want to keep 8SR in their timeslot because not many shows would do better. I think 8SR did really well considering it was in the show's first year and it was able to anchor a night, which is a pretty good accomplishment IMO.

"Full House' is an OK show. "Match Game" came next, "The Golden Girls", ditto! "Lizzie McGuire", great! "Sex and the City", good!, "So Little Time", I think I have on DVD and "Two of a Kind", a one-season show.

Full House did good because it was a pop culture phenomenon, it had TV fans hooked since the first day!... Many of you who bash FH, know that you secretly like this show.

Not moi.

You're a SBTB fan--Don't you think it stinks that Full House robbed the College Years of ratings because both competed against eachother on Tuesday nights? That is what happened to the College Years right?

To answer the question, I don't think Full House was surprising because like SBTB said, it was a pop culture phenomenon (unfortunately). Actually, I'd watch that before I'd watch Home Improvement. At least with FH, I can watch it to make fun of. Home Improvement is even too boring for that.

Yeah both Full House and Saved by the Bell the College Years aired on Tuesday Night at 8pm in the Fall of 1993.

I don't blame FH for the entire fact that College Years didn't succeed. SBTB:CY managed to pull an average 7-8 million (which isn't too shabby these days,) the fact it didn't do better was because it grew too much for it's main audience- plus some of the new characters didn't exactly "click" with the viewers.
IMO, the SBTB:CY episodes are the best in the entire SBTB series.

Plus, Saved By The Bell is also another pop culture icon, it should of been included in that stupid VH-1 list! At least it made the Greatest Teen Idols list.
