My baby sister is engaged to be married! Her boyfriend proposed to her last month and she accepted. She told me, but she hasn't told our parents - and she doesn't plan on telling them for a while yet.

I gotta keep my mouth shut about this until she finishes school! My parents like the guy, and they know how serious they are... but how am I gonna manage to keep this quiet?

That's a good question. I'll tell you all another not quite a secret but it's pretty danged strange. My sister married a guy and didn't tell our folks for a few years! They didn't used to like the guy much. They do now, though. Anyway, is that weird or what?

Cuz they'll freak out. She's only nineteen, but doesn't plan on getting married for at least another three years. I don't know when she'll get around to telling them - she'll probably tell them before she graduates though. A lot can happen in three years. Their love will either solidify or die. Either way, it was a good idea to keep it under wraps. Give it time to blossom or fade. Not to mention finish school!

I agree. At least with a long engagement I know they're not rushing into anything.

But I'm only gonna be in Europe for another three weeks. Then I go home. Still, I'll be at a different school

Well, Im 19 myself, and I dont think my parents would like the idea of me being married or being engaged. Only because Im 19 and when your 14-17 how serious can relationships me? How long have they been going out?
