Default Mostly (or totally)= forgotten pre-Barnabas storyline bits

1)Mathew Morgan's murder of Bill Malloy

2)The Ghost of Bill Malloy

3)The giant head of Laura Collins appearing to her son David in his room

4)BUrke's revenge against Roger for manslaughter charges

5)Josette's original last name (La Frenier, later in Barn eps changed to Du Pres)

6)Logansport Enterprises (The Cannery Burke owned in the next town over)

7)Wilbur Strake, detective who worked for Burke

8)The Stockbridges and Radcliffes (Collinsport folks associated with Laura Collins in the 17 and 1800's)

Anything else?

While I wouldn't think the bits from pre-Barnabas storylines are forgotten (since they are still shown in reruns and have their share of fans), I'll add some of my comments.

The history of the Collins family was also different during the early episodes. According to what was said in the early episodes, Collinwood was built in the 1800's by Jeremiah Collins, who moved into it with his French bride, Josette LaFrenier Collins. By the time of the 1795 storyline, the history had been changed to where Collinwood had been built in 1795 by Joshua Collins, whose brother Jeremiah married Josette duPres. Jeremiah seemed to have been older in the original version of the history, but when the 1795 storyline started he was around Barnabas' age.

Victoria arrived in Collinsport to find out who her parents were. However, the storyline was never resolved. They did have Victoria talking about her past at the foundling home from time to time, and showed Sandy (her roommate at the foundling home) and Mrs. Hopewell (who was the head of the foundling home, or something like that). I really liked when she talked about it, because it helped to flesh out her character.

I like the pre-Barnabas episodes and I think they were well acted and well written. It's too bad some people don't even consider viewing them just because Barnabas isn't in them. I can't really think of a bad actor/actress in the original cast. While some things did drag on (like there would be episodes of Roger and Burke accusing each other of various things), I thought the storylines were great. The fact that it was in black and white greatly added to the atmopshere of the show.

i forgot the name but sam evans had the potrait he drew of a woman that looked just like victoria. they said something about a servant back then. i always felt that the servant had a fling with elizabeth and she got pregnant. and maybe roger made her give the baby we knew as victoria away. or maybe paul if it was when or before their marriage.

That was Betty Hanscom that Sam drew a picture of, Bry. She was probably Vicki's aunt (her brother may have had a fling with Liz).

Sean, I meant mostly or totally forgotten by the writers. Not the viewers. I agree Burke and Roger's car accident bit was too drawn out and got dull. That's why these eps were inferior to the later Barn eps because under Barn the show was never dull.
